Isn't it the ARU who are in charge of ticketing?
anyways, I'm aussie but I have to say I enjoyed the NZ game, was 10 times better than the wannabes game, how can it be the most boring sporting match ever when one team makes 10 line breaks, sths would struggle to make that in an entire season. I guess some people don't like defence, because Union players can actually tackle. On the game itself, I thought Jerry COllins was the best player, outstanding, he's really come along recently, hits like a sledgehammer as Thinus Delport would testify. If he's not one of the top 3 number 8's in world rugby then I'll give it away.

It's mind blowing. And these are meant to be professionals? Note the amount of empty seats also.

Put the empty seats to the Fish Heads charging 200 dollars just for cheap seats.

Or the fact that people are over this big con job. I thought people were suppossed to be selling their private parts for a ticket to this wonderful world event? Quarter-finals too!

No more 5 buck tickets for the part goers.

hahahah a "successful international event".

The Kangaroos beat SA by 80 points in the RL World Cup and it's a farce. The wannabes beat namibia by 140 and it's a success? talk it up.

Are you saying that the League Cup was a success then ? with having Aus b, Aus C, Eng B, NZ B and NZ C playing ? At least the minows that got flogged in this WC did come from there country. Also compared to RL the RU cup has only had 5 comps, where is international RLWC ? Do you think that Soccer in the 5th WC didnt have major blow outs ? Did you see the Japan flogging that the AB's gave them in 95, look how they did this time. Given time and money these minows will get better. Also if you had followed the reports most of the minows that got flogged were thrilled to get on the park they didnt cared about the score, they wanted to play against the best and give it their all. Would you like to tell them that this wasnt a successfull tournament because they let in 140 points ?

I tell ya what. You guys are like the mothers club. Whinge, Whinge, Whinge. You guys are just jealous that our governing body can organise a succesful international event.

And calling South Africa vs NZ the worst sports match you have ever seen is just plain ignorant. Any of Souths games this year were shitter than that. Not to mention Sharks vs Eels. "Don't wave your hands at me!"

How about you open your other eye, get whatever it is out of your ass and enjoy the Rugby World Cup for what it is. An international spectacle of the world's finest rugby players.

Rugby is about as international as cricket and the cricket world cup was bagged. The Union world cup has been of a much poorer standard than the cricket one, so it deserves a pummelling.

and for your information, the top 5 would be NZ, England, France, Aus, Ireland

Yep and not much after that. The great con job has been exposed - get your hand off it mate. Even I thought international union was much stronger than it was until this world cup started and exposed a few myths.

Of course there is dominant sides.

WHy are there third world countries and some countries over flowing with food and money.

A fact of life is there is always a dominant part. What this world cup has showed is that Wales will bea force to be reckoned with next time round. Same with South Africa.

Italian rugby has a bright future.

I think you under estimate the feeling for union in Wales and this world cup has been a good kick in the pants for Welsh rugby, check out their papers you would think they have won the comp.

The state of Welsh Rugby?

Dude, in the Celtic League (Major compeititon for Ireland, Wales, Scotland) 3 of the top 5 sides are welsh.

Shut your mouth and think before you speak.

there was actually a post on this forum earlier in the year showinfg the state of welsh rugby.

Hopefully for your sake this 'spirited' performance can make the WRU sit up and try and revive the welsh game out of its slum.

the Welsh have not beaten england in the last 12 outings. The only team Italy beat this year was the Welsh.

They have had the number of professional outfits reduced from 12 to 4. They has a massivbe $100 million debt on the millenum stadium.

Soccer is seriously challenging RU as the number one football code in Wales.

Many tradition Welsh RU clubs are folding -have a look here:

Having said that I thought the Welsh on Sunday night were magnificant. They have showed more flair than when they were here 3 months ago.

And they get crap crowds. Soccer is currently ahead of union in Wales. Union in Wales is much like it is here. A lot depends on the national team.

How do you know ? do you live over there ? do you even know why they restructured the union teams ? or what the depth of feeling is for the union sides ?

 most countries have more soccer players than their national sports. That is nothing new and does not show how union is going in Wales. There are more people playing soccer in NZ our union comps must be in major trouble.

Did you know that the Aus Union in the 80's was pretty much declared bunkrupt, look at them now, they are raking it in. Did you also know that since the article you arre talking about they have since declared that the millions they did owe has been reduced by half. Not bad for a code that is in major trouble. Since the report came out that clubs were looking at switching to leage how many have done that ? I think you will find none.

I live about 30 miles away from Wales.

Union has peaked in Wales, to think they'll be a force next time is a joke, the country is too small and theyre not like NZ where everyone is massive. The 4 clubs theyve merged into are not getting the crowds that they need to survive. 2 decent games at the world cup doesn't solve a countries problems.

In Scotland there are less than 4000 players and I expect them to drop off alarmingly by the next WC. They have NO domestic clubs of any size. The biggest gets 2000 for big games, which isn't even RL NL1 level. Eventually its going to tell and they won't be able to compete against much bigger nations. Proffessionalism is starting to kick in and Eng, Aus, Fra, SA and NZ are just going to got further and further away. Even Irelands so small that it will come and go as a major team.

Unions big in Wales because its a sport that a small country can compete at, much like NZ. But this increasingly isn't going to be the case.

Oh yeh and as for football, there was never ever blowouts at a world cup like 14-0 or something. The fact is the league world cup was a farce but when the aussies beat Russia (made up of all but 2 russian players) 110-4 it was a joke but when Aus beat Namibia 140-0 its development.
