Some band called Rage opening for Audioslave at the Tennis Centre in Melbourne circa 2003. Everyone left the venue and went outside and smoked, or got beers or whatever until the words "This is gonna be our last song" were heard.

Bad local bands I've seen here: Saint Cycle, Trillit and The Black Cigarettes. There's a few more but their names have thankfully been taken from my memory.

The band opening for Audioslave were called Warped. I only stayed and listened to them because I managed to get a spot right up the front on the barrier. Was not impressed when the bass player, who was standing right in front of me, decided to shower the crowd with spit. Took a sip of water and spat it out over everyone in front of him. The security guards nearby looked like they wanted to jump up on stage and throttle him, never mind the crowd. Worst band I've EVER seen.

As mentioned, Silverchair at BDO were woeful. Truly pitiful. Was not really impressed with Rage Against the Machine either to be perfectly honest. Arcade Fire also extremely awful.

Behind Crimson Eyes who opened for Iron Maiden.

I've come to the opinion that it was really a brilliant marketing ploy by Maiden to make themselves seem even more awesome.

Worst gig? Smashing Pumpkins in i think 98 ( not the first tour) after the release of their at the time new album at the Horden. They were absolute crap that night and only played Bullets as the only song of Mellon Collie.

Ron, the 98 tour was at the Entertainment Centre.

My bad. All I remember is that they were terrible. Oh, and I forgot about Kraftwerk Big Day Out 2003. I love a bit of Kraftwerk on CD but live they were absolutely awful. No atmosphere, no stage presence.

They were facts.

The second concert was sh*t, they sang all the songs of there crap new album at the time, and Bullets was the only song they off Mellon collie.

I may have gotten the years mixed up fish, but definately saw them twice at the Horden.

Ron.

Smashing Pumpkins Rock Invasion tour was at the Coogee Bay Hotel and Big Day Out.

1996 they toured on the back of Mellon Collie and played 2 nights at the Hordern Pavillion. It was originally postponed due to Jimmy Chamberlains drug issues.
