Alex McKinnon. The incident itself didn't look bad, but seeing him on the ground afterwards was horrific.

With that one fresh in my memory, I remember being terrified when Sam Burgess went down against us. Ch9 showed his mum crying and everything. The commentary team got into a big wank-fest.

Turned out all it was was a washed up ex-superstar pretending to be injured for attention.

On topic, Yow Yeh really freaked me out at the time. You couldn't see anything then, bam, blood starts filling the sock

The worst I've seen live was a mate of mine playing in the St George A grade comp back in about 1983 against a team of Islanders. He got smashed in a tackle and his kneecap took a 180 degree journey to the back of his leg.

It just looked so wrong. Understandably he never played again,

I was at a country game and a bloke got tackled over the sideline and landed on some poor bastard's dog. It was killed instantly and the tackled player needed to change his jersey before returning to the field. The owner was devastated and took what was left of his dog home in a wheelbarrow.

Wendel sailor on Ritchie Barnett in a test match about 15 year back.
Barnett copped wendels forehead flush and the face at speed.
Needed his whole face reconstructed.
I remember big mal smashing some poor poms jaw in 4 places in a test once too. Silly bugger went in to tackle him all wrong and mal drove his shoulder up under the poor barstards chin.
Remember seeing Scott hill have his foot facing the opposite direction after a tackle once and one of the tacklers turned it back the right way for him. I thought his career was finished but he recovered like it never happened only a short time down the track.

Another one that stands out is Nigel vagana breaking some poms palet in a test.
He should have been marched the merkin did it on purpose for sure.

RU GF Kempsey about 15 years ago., broke his collar bone (pretty minor) but it pierced his sub-clavicular vein. He died when they were getting him into the ambulance
