Worst Song of All Time

Brook, I think the song is called 'I would do anything for love'

At boarding school we changed the words and it became 'I would eat anything for lunch.....but I won't eat that'

The Loaf can be a shocker all right...

Nobody's mentioned Michael Bolton yet, anything by that terminally constipated shitbag is guarranteed to be terrible. He deserves to be shot for what he did to Otis Redding's "Dock of the Bay".
Chris De Burgh is another one who sounds like he hasn't taken a decent crap in months.

"Worst Song - The song about cake in the rain. Stupid"

Moff, youre referring 'MacArthur Park' by the late and great Richard 'This Sporting Life' Harris.

The man was a genius and the song was pure poetry.

This song was actually written, incongruously enough, by none other than Jimmy Webb. It was a radical departure from his normal country line, as he is better known for writing Glen Campbell classics like Galveston, Wichita Lineman & Gentle on my Mind. I like the song, but I did find it most odd until I finally cottoned on to the fact that it was all about drug addiction. Drug addiction is pure thematic gold for song writer and script writer alike, as it pretty much gives you carte blanche to run amok with your material.

Worst song, where do we start?

Last Christmas (George Michael) & I will Always Loathe You (Whitney Houston) are high on the list, but then again there's always...

I can't stand techno'd up songs.....ie. DJ Sammy's 'Boys of Summer'...where do they get off trashing good songs. Another one that pissed me off was when someone did a techno verson of Nirvanas 'Smells Like Teen Spirit'. Aren't they original enough tlo come up with their own material????????? GRRRRRRRRRRR

I'll join the ranks of those going with anything generated. For mine music involves playing instruments& not just pushing buttons.
Also any of the dozen or so renditions of "Stairway To Heaven" that Rolf & hiscrony's did. Maybe it's just me but that bordered on sacrilegious.

Aren't they original enough to come up with their own material?????????
To be fair, they are computer programmers, not musicians.

I like a lot of electronic music and don't see a problem with it at all, as far as I'm concerned computers/samplers/sequencers are musical instruments like any others in the sense that they can be used to create something that sounds good.
However I agree with those who can't stand the "updated" versions of previous hits that are usually just sped up with a cheesy 4/4 dance beat stuck behind them. These songs aren't even true techno or electronic music, and people who are into those genres can't stand them either; they are just a cheap attempt to wring a few more $$ out of familiar songs from people with no clue about music by making them sound "modern".

What were half doing? Leaning on their shovels? Oh right, they were the Aussie Council workers.
