Would Courtney Beavis from rugby union be a good buy?

I watched the Tahs vs Crusaders last night. Foley and Beale were outstanding. I'd have either at the Eels in a heartbeat.

Just because he goes good at Union doesn't mean he'll be as good in League.

True enough and many have tried and failed. The standouts generally transfer both ways on athletic ability alone. Nobody knows whether Beale would be a success or not but it's worth a shot. After all, he is a very elusive runner, passes well both sides, safe under the high ball and while his defence is not in the category of the greatest it is still pretty useful. He's a damn fine tactical kicker as well. It's a reasonably safe bet that he would go well.

I watched the highlights cos merkins kept saying it was a good game.

3 tries? Think it was 3 anwyay. 60 odd points and f**k all tries. Who wants to see that?

And this is why it will forever be consigned to Pay TV.

If I wanna see conversions I'll go down to the local park and watch the kids knock em over.

From reading today's newspaper article it appears that Courtney all but confirmed he is leaving the Waratahs at their Martin place fan day

He said his contract hasn't been renewed but he'd like to stay. They'd be nuts not to re-sign him. Been in top form for the Tahs this year and looks certain to make the Bledisloe squad. Ashley-Cooper and Kiridrani are the incumbents and either would be dead unlucky to loose their spot. Unfortunately, Beale's current form can't be overlooked. If all else fails I'd love to see him an Eels jersey.

NO THANKS, KURTLEY

Kurtley Beale’s dusty defence has cost him the chance of a massive deal with the Bulldogs next season. I am hearing the Dogs have shelved plans to sign Beale to fill their troublesome fullback role after closely dissecting his game on video.

While Beale’s defence improved this year as the Waratahs claimed the Super Rugby title, Canterbury still believe he will struggle with the demands of league defensive structures and have decided to look elsewhere.
