Its a bit of a two way street, isnt it? RL made Johns, but by the same token, he's contributed a lot to the game, aswell. The fact that he polarizes so many league fans alone is testament to the kind of interest he creates in the game.

Yes

Joey has gained a hell of a lot from rugby league but he's given a lot as well.

If he chooses to use the last couple of years available to him to gain a payrise and help secure his future well then good on him.

I hope he stays but I wouldn't judge the guy for making whatever decision is right for him.

I wouldn't care.

But I think it'd be nice for him to do his knee/back/etc in his first game for the Warachokers so they get the same value that the Knights have from him for the past few years.

700,000 for 15 minutes sounds good.

I'm sick of all this B.S about them securing their future. It isn't like they are on the damn bread line! This bloke makes as much in one year as most blokes make in 10 years or more. He isn't a victim here.

If he leaves rugby league deadset, he will be the most hated man in Australia and if he announces it before Origin 3 which is what the RU will want, damn him to hell. Im sure he wouldn't do that to us though...

Let's hope he stays in the premier rugby code.

Well at that point it would be Andrew who?
I do not expend any energy thinking about union players.

As a person I would think the same thing, do not know him.

I think he is one of the best players around, but it's what he has done to Newcastle that cheeses me off. Not only now are we going to not have Johns, we have losted BK because of this.. and it looks like Kurt Gidley won't stay either.

What a god damn mess!

will be interesting to see the level of support in that god forsaken hole in the years to come given the knights are now no longer a regular fixture in finals football.

give him a go guys.

He has got a family doesn't he?

Cause if he does, i'd take the pay rise to set my kids up if i was in his position, and don't tell me none of you wouldn't either.

And if u do say that, then your a fibber.

I never liked him. As a person he came across as an absolute fwit.
The most gifted wanker I've seen on a footy field.

Joey has been a favorite son in Newcastle for a long time, you dont hate your children for one mistake.
I would have a drink with him anytime.
