As well know in the few years the winner of teh Royal Rumble has gone on to win the Title at Wrestlemania so I'm posing this question.

Will the Wrestlemania trend continue?

I think it's pretty clear they're setting up for Orton vs. Angle at Wrestlemania, so no. Rey will move on to some other feud or maybe attack the winner of the WM match to set up a match on a Smackdown only event.

Booker will help Orton beat Rey at NWO and then Rey will win the US Title at Mania.

Problem is that as much as I like Rey, and I do a lot, I think Orton-Angle main-event is much better. That is not saying Rey can't main-event but probally not at Wrestlemania. But I won't be fussed either way.

I agree with R&S. If they NEED to have Orton in the main event, then make it a 3 way or 4 way but don't screw Rey Rey.

For those doubting Rey's main event qualities, sh!t, I couldn't imagine a more frenetic and well balanced Wrestlemania main event than Rey Mysterio, arguably the greatest high flyer of all time, against Kurt Angle, in the top 5 all-round wrestlers of all time IMO. Rey's hot to trot at the moment, so is Angle, this all=Happy Days.

id love to see rey headline mania with Orton and Angle in a triple threat match... but not one on one imo

I read a couple of days ago that the last wrestler to win the Royal Rumble but not win the title at Wrestlemania was Lex Luger. I haven't bothered to verify this for myself, but if true I'd hate for Rey to be sharing that ignomy with Luger.

I wouldn't mind another triple threat match for the title at WM. Put Orton, Angle and Mysterio in the same match and it couldn't be anything but great entertainment. It would also make it a lot easier to sell Mysterio winning such a match. Orton and Angle beat the hell out of each other, Mysterio picks his spots and steals the win.

oh i don't think that Mysterio would need to just pick his spots and just steal and win....i believe he's proved himself enough to be able to stand with guys like angle and orton, altho i do agree that its easier to sell Mysterio winning such a match if it is a triple threat

i was thinking it be easy to have mysterio NOT win the strap without bringing a crushing halt to his push

have Rey hit a West Coast Pop on Angle about to get the pin and then have Orton hit an RKO out of no where on Rey whilst he is pinning Angle, and then Orton pin angle himself for the win

The Rock/Big Show didn't win it in 2000. Vince McMahon didn't win it in 1999.

I'm not a big fan of the 3 way matches prefer the 1 on 1, 3 way matches are gimmicks, you want thr traditional 1 on 1, would even like to see the Kurt Angle title match at mania a iron man match or submission match

The main event at mania is better as a 1 on 1 match. Not fatal 4 ways or tripple threat rubbish. Simple one on one....and they have been some great ones over the yrs...

Also Austin won the Rumble in 97 and didnt win the title at WM13
HBK won the Rumble in 95 and didnt win the title at WM11

So yeah there's been 4 since Luger.

And I like the 1 on 1 title matches at WM too....triple threats and fatal four ways are crap...WM2000 sucked ass because of these matches.

I perfer 1 on 1 main events as well. But the triple threat main event at Mania 20 was something special.

Agreed with you thuga it was the best match of 2004 and the real last time I cared about a World Title Victory.
