He can’t be anywhere near ready. The gulf between sg ball & NRL is enormous.
Your probably right Ted.
I'm only seeing similarities between him, LG, and Luke Laulilii. Except for LG who was basically thrust into the NRL, the other two are being spoon fed little cameos.
I thought that in the later part of the year, if the 8 is gone and there are injuries then why not give him a game or two.
A few years ago I was against doing things like this but it was pointed out to me that these days, players are playing younger because clubs want to develop them quicker and have them experienced and seasoned NRL players before they hit mid twenties.
Also back in your day and mine Ted, young blokes would get bashed. Now they are protected.
Any thoughts as I'd like to know what people think on this.
Remember Starling was 18 when he played for Australia but that was rare.

No doubt precocious kids today can be fast tracked to NRL due to the game been cleaner than it’s ever been.Ive been curious as to why Makasini hasn’t made an appearance in the lower grades since sg ball ended.Wonder if he’s injured.
The name Starling brings back great memories of when I was a kid.The Balmain/carlingford cougars junior was a phenomenal talent.I still remember the day Starling & Trevor Ryan outplayed Fulton & Brannigan to get Balmain a shock win against a powerhouse Manly. So damn sad an illness cut the superstars career short.

He was a champion alright Ted.

Now that I've ditched NSWRLTV, I haven't watched any lower grade/pathway games for a while so I ready can't make an honest assessment of him. I have seen a couple of his games earlier and he was brilliant.
Maybe @RHYTHM AND STEALTH can give us an update.

I think he's available any time soon, don't know exact round, but I'm not sure he should have a run this year, unless we absolutely need him.
He has more tickets on him than Galvin. He's a big bugger.
