WWE in negotiations with former WCW + WWE World Champion

On his Twitter account, former World Heavyweight Champion Goldberg announced he was in discussions with the WWE regarding a contract, citing his son as the reason. Whether he will return to the ring though wasn't clear. He also took a stab at TNA + Hulk Hogan, saying they didn't even bother to check his availability even though they had used his name in recent years to advance storylines.

For some reason I thought it would be Sid.

I must admit, and this may shock some people, but I am a mark for Goldberg. When I first got into PW Bill was the man who caught my eye - I loved his charisma and I thought there were a few matches where he showed some great potential in 1998. (DDP Halloween Havoc instantly springs to mind) So it's suffice to say, apart of me would be glad to see Goldberg return.

Half of being a wrestler is having a good character or charisma and goldberg has that. Those goldberg chants from the crowd, and his music, and the long walk he did before he came out is somthing very few guys ni the business have.

Its like Hulk. His matches are more garbage than they ever were, but when you see him come back to Raw, you cant say its usually not more entertaining than 99% of the current show

When I saw this I was hoping it would be the 5 time 5 time 5 time 5 time 5 time WCW Champion, instead we get ...Goldberg who is boring he was an ordinary wrestler in his prime so how bad would be now not having wrestled in years?
Admittdley he was a HUGE draw back in the day but I doubt he would be now, I think I would rather see Tiger Ali Singh back before Goldberg ...ok perhaps not but you get where I'm going here.

Maybe he should change his name to Oldberg ;) lol just kidding. Goldberg has one of the best psych up entrances ever! It would be great to have him back here (WWE Universe represent) instead of TNA stealing all the ex wcw stars.

Goldberg is the man :D

And he vs Batista has already happened, Goldberg killed him :)

Dunno what sort of shape he's in, but certainly hope his second stint is way better than his first.

I know TNA has a lot of older guys at the top - but Batiata, Triple H, HBK, and Undertaker aren't exactly spring chickens either. I see no reason why Goldberg being in the WWE would be a problem. That said, if he 'ain't wrestling, I don't want to see it. I am a huge Goldberg fan, but not if he's going to be a talker.

I assume you're referring to Hogan, Flair, and The Nasty Boys rather than RVD, Sting, Hardy, or Hall? Hall's looking better than he did in his late WCW days. It's insane!

I will always be a massive Goldberg mark, he is second only to Stone Cold in my books. Growing up and watching both Raw (Then shown on Fox sports every Tuesday) and Nitro (shown on TNT every sat) religiously when Goldberg debuted and was slowly built up it as great watching, by the time he was feuding with raven and the flock by April 98 he was WCW's most over star. By June when he was ready for Hogan i dare say he was the most over wrestler in the World for those few months.

The guy was genuinely damn strong, not someone like Batista or Scott Steiner who are built as monster but in reality struggle to spinbuster anyone 300+ pounds. Goldberg gorilla pressed slammed with absolute ease the likes of Lesnar, Batista, Steiner, HHH, Scott Hall. He jackhammered Big Show (amongst others like Nash and Henry) and held him vertical on his left shoulder for a good 5 seconds... probably the single most impressive feat of strength ever seen in a ring. Only Lesnar compares and even he would not be able to match some of Goldbergs feats. Combine those power moves with a legit look that he could kill someone, awesome finishers and a top 3 best entrance/theme in wrestling history and you have the attitudes eras best product along side the Rock and Austin.

Hope he gets a good run this time.

Flair looks god damn f**king awful. It's a f**king embarrasment to the sport. Him and Hogan have somewhat destroyed their legacies by never f**king retiring from the ring with a bit of grace.

It's hard to remember distinguished careers when you see their flabby 60 year old bodies wobbling around.

If Goldberg comes back it won't be as a full time wrestler. He's got a few outside projects going and won't want to give up those. He'll be used very sparingly, and his in ring performances will be even rarer.

It's more of a play by the WWE for his image/merchandise more than anything he would actually bring to Raw or Smackdown.

Oh and WM27 is in Atlanta, home of WCW and it's finest night when Goldberg beat Hogan at the Georgia Dome. Goldberg and some other WCW stars will be inducted into the hall of fame apparently.
