Christian's opponent will be decided in an 8 man over the top battle royal on ECW this week. The contenders are Shelton Benjamin, CM Punk, Evan Bourne, Matt Hardy, Vance Archer, Ezekiel Jackson, Kane and Yoshi Tatsu. I think it will be one of Jackson/Benjamin/Archer that he faces, with Punk being a smokey, the rest are no chance imo.
As far as the rumble goes, what I would like to see:
-Quick eliminations, last year we saw a superstar enter, dominate for 30 seconds, then slow down and wait for a new guy to enter for a minute. Every now and then someone got dumped.
-Number 1 and 2 go deep into the rumble. Every time I watch a rumble, I always like to see the battle between numbers 1 and 2 as superstars come and go. Michaels/Taker was a good battle for the entirity, as was Mysterio/HHH.
-Big guns separated. Again, last year we saw too many big names thrown into the mix too early. By number 20, HHH, Orton, Jericho, Punk, Rey and Undertaker had all entered the ring and it was just a whole lot of mid carders to come, with the exception of the Big Show.
-Mid carders get eliminations. Last year here is the elimination tally: HHH 6, Big Show 6, Taker 3, Kozlov 3, Kane 3, Orton 3, Rhodes 2, DiBiase 1, Rey 1, Punk 1, Kendrick 1, Jericho 1. Apart from Kendrick they were all main eventers/upper mid carders at the time. Kendrick lasted 22 seconds, so he was in, threw Kofi out, then was thrown out.
-Less long stints, in 2009 14 guys were in for at least 10 minutes, with 8 lasting half an hour (including guys who didn't even get 1 elmination)
-An unpredictable winner, yet a credible one. Don't give it away on the last Raw/SD before the rumble, keep us guessing until the 29th guy goes tumbling to the floor.
