Reading over the next few weeks of NXT stuff, Balor is seemingly going to be on RAW sooner rather than later, and the same may be for American Alpha.

Match cards have been announced by Dainty for the August tour in Aus & NZ, gotta say they're looking pretty damn good!

Here's the NZ one (which I'm going to), gotta say I'm pretty excited now that it's getting near (they haven't been here since 2011)!

http://www.daintygroup.com/tour/wwe-live-new-zealand-2016/

Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins
John Cena vs AJ Styles
Neville vs Chris Jericho
Six Man Tag Team Match: The New Day vs Bray Wyatt, Braun Strowman and Erick Rowan
Sami Zayn vs Kevin Owens
Titus O’Neil vs Rusev w/Lana
The Usos vs Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson
Sasha Banks and Paige vs Charlotte and Dana Brooke
Apollo Crews vs Bo Dallas w/Heath Slater

Finally we get Jericho!!!! He's the one main star I've been itching to see live all these years, has always missed the NZ tours for various reasons (storyline firings, drafting to non touring show, Fozzying).

But if that card stays as is I'll be a happy panda!

f**king hell, that's incredible!! so happy with that; hope there's no last minute dropouts

So we get the Cena/Styles dream match and Zayn/Owens which is always five stars. Hopefully New Day & Wyatts have some promo time. Can't wait for the Wyatts' entrance. Would prefer Banks V Charlotte for the title rather than a tag team match. Hopefully Rollins wins at Battleground so Reigns V Rollins is for the title. And finally Y2J!!!

Am I reading into it too much that Ambrose not being listed means he is pretty much a certain short term champ?

the champ doesn't have to do all the house shows though. I think Ambrose missed a couple this week so he could be on Smackdown instead. And of course Lesnar skipped them when he was champ

With regards to ticket prices, the lowest price point in NZ is $50 which is what we went for this time (only got our tickets last week!).

At the four Vector Arena shows I've been to, I've stuck with the $50-80 raised section seats as I've found the view is perfectly alright as the arena is pretty much perfect size for a wrestling show, in that you still feel pretty close to the action even if in the 'nosebleeds'.

The first two WWE shows I went to (2006 Westpac Stadium Wellington & 2007 Western Springs Auckland) I splashed out on the $300+ seats for as close to the ring as possible, second row two seats from aisle in 2006 and fourth row middle of ring facing entrance in 2007, which was amazing, but don't feel like I need to do that again (unless its at a "big four" Rumble/Mania/Summerslam/Survivor Series which have been on the bucket list since I started watching in 1989!!!!).

what were those earlier shows like? I only watched Smackdown in 2010 and Raw in 2011.

Smackdown 2010 was good. Dolph defending the IC title in a fatal four way was the match of the night, though Chavo V Del Rio was surprisingly good. MVP V Swagger, and Big Show V Mercury and Gallows were shit. Kane V Rey Mysterio for the WHC main event was solid.

Raw in 2011 was about the same. It was a week after CM Punk's infamous promo and he had a pretty good match against Mysterio to start the night. Dolph V Kofi for the US title was brilliant, and Miz V Riley was enjoyable too. Cena V R-Truth in the main event (WWE championship) was a bit flat though.

They were both outdoor shows so completely different atmosphere. Some good matches and moments, being in the thick of it right up front the atmosphere and interaction with wrestlers was awesome (Chavo in 2007 was really good at getting it on verbally with the crowd, I can't remember specifics but just remember cracking up at his comebacks to heckles).

The 2006 one will always be my favourite due to being the first ever (for me and for NZ, was actually recorded for the WWE on demand with hilarious overdubbed commentary by Taz & Michael Cole, which I got on DVD by someone ages ago that had ripped it from the site somehow so have rewatched a few times!
Was funny getting Charles Robinson to "DO THE STRUT! DO THE STRUT!", seeing crowd members offer a chilly Randy Orton their shirt as it was a cold day!, emotionally chanting "EDDIE" during and after Rey's match as that was only a few months after he died (and was scheduled for the show), and being in awe at the entrances of Angle (with the YOU SUCKS), Henry (he is biiiiiig in person) and of course the Undertaker (a chilly night was perfect for his entrance).

Matches were : Angle v Taker v Henry, Orton v Misterio, Benoit v Booker, Finlay v Lashley, Matt Hardy v Animal, MNM v London & Kendrick, Noble v Kid Kash v Helms, Sylvan Grenier v Funaki (#1!!!!!) plus a hilarious JBL (with Jillian in a TINY DRESS mmmm) promo where he disses NZ then sung God Bless America before being interrupted by the Boogeyman which turned into a Boogey v Orlando Jordan match.

The 2007 one had a whole lot of ECW stars (as was just after they had restarted ECW as a brand) in a battle royale including RVD, Sabu, Sandman (downed a few Tuis during his entrance through the crowd hah! Odd given it was in Auckland!), Tommy Dreamer, CM Punk, Snitsky and more. Other matches included Chavo v Kane, King Booker v Undertaker, Batista v Mrrrrrrr Kennedy, Benoit v MVP, a diva bikini contest (Kelly Kelly, Kristal, Michelle McCool I think), and I'm sure there were a couple more that slip my mind.

Good times, good times.

The biggest crowd reaction in NZ though to date has by far and away been HHH in Auckland in 2009 (the first Raw tour in NZ). Cena got a big reaction as well, but when HHH's music hit it was just a wall of noise, that's one thing Vector has over the outdoor events, if the crowd is into it it just sounds awesome.

Got our tickets for the WWE show here in Shanghai early september. Apparently its a sellout too, given they just signed their first Chinese wrestler to the performance centre.

Looking forward to seeing who comes down, we'll get Cena for sure, thats a given, but Id mark out for any of the ex-TNA/ROH guys, they were responsible for getting me back into wrestling in the mid 00s. Blokes like Styles, Joe (if he gets called up), Claudio (aka Cesaro), Steen (aka Owens), Generico (aka Zayn) etc, and the NJPW dudes, man thatd be cool.

Its also my first ever live event. Lads Im going with, one was at Wrestlemania in Dallas this year, and the other was at Wrestle Kingdom in Tokyo this year, so it's gonna be a cool as f**k evening.

I'm going to this show with a current flatmate who I've indoctrinated back into wrestling since getting WWE Network and a former flatmate who is a big fan of the late 80s stuff like me (he'll be donning one of those classic Ultimate Warrior jackets!) and his girlfriend who loves Total Divas so has decided to come as well hah. Should be a fun night!

From what I've heard the AKL show is selling well too. Booking 4 seats together there was nothing available in lower bowl, and the closest ones in upper bowl were beyond about 5 rows from back. So should be good atmosphere!

Then sticking around for a few days to watch the Warriors/Rabbitohs game at Mt Smart (ticking another NRL team off my list of to-see's!)
