Xbox 360 Problem

So the other day I turned on my 360 and it said it had to download an update. So I let it do it and then it froze so I turned it off and on again and about 5 seconds after I had turned it on the rings around the power light turned red and it wouldn't work.

Devastating I know... my Xbox wouldnt be under warranty either because I've had it for pretty long.

Does anyone know if because this seems to be a Microsoft error if they would fix it for free? Or any other advice ?

how many segments of the circle are red?
if 3, MS might fix it for free.

Its going to cost you $..

If your Xbox360 has been chipped you need someone to re-install the firmware and increase air flow. The update might have been a firmware update to catch also you out. Normally have error code on the screen.

If you don't have your XBOX chipped lots of these errors on older models are due to over-heating. You can google guys who do repairs for Xbox 360s other than Microsoft.

if you have had your Xbox for less then 3 years, just say to them that you have 3 red lights around the quandrant and that the power block has a green light when turned on. Evem if you Xbox does not have this problem just tell them what i said and they should fix it for free.
