Cronulla centre Bronson Xerri still is hoping for a move away from the Sharks, although it looks like it won’t be at the Roosters with close friend Kyle Flanagan.

According to the Daily Telegraph, a third party has reportedly offered the Roosters Xerri’s services for next season, although Sydney aren’t thrilled about the idea.

With Latrell Mitchell set to depart before the start of next season, the Roosters do have an open spot on left centre, although they seem to be keen on either Billy Smith or Brett Morris to replace Mitchell.

Xerri’s disappointment reportedly stems from the recent signing of Jesse Ramien, with the former Newcastle outside back on more money that Xerri.

The 19-year-old played 22 games in his debut season with the Sharks in 2019.

When I first read the title of this thread, I thought the idea of us signing Xerri was Zero to no chance. After reading the above article and Flanagan as our assistant and our location, the idea of signing Xerri isn't as far fetched as I first thought.

We currently have Flanagan as our assistant coach. I am hoping that he will become our first grade coach by 2022. If he is then there is a very big chance he will want to bring Kyle to us. Shane Flanagan probably already has some kind of relationship with Xerri, since he was coaching Cronulla up until the end of last and Kyle is close to Xerri. I am hoping that Shane Flanagan can be the carrot that lures Xerri. Xerri would be a massive signing. He was only 18 this year when he debuted. He has speed to burn and the ideal build for centre. It is more than likely he will play origin in the future. We also need a quality centre or 2 if Lomax stays at fullback.

Make it happen Millward.

Oh no not another one that we would wish for and for some on here to get our hopes up.
Why do yous all do it to yourselves and us.
We all know where this will end up.
I am going to take the reverse pyschology approach.
We are 0% chance of him coming to us.
I will now refuse to read this thread from hereon until i see the Dragons announce his signing on our website.

With Lomax stating 2 hours ago that he will make a call on his future within weeks, this may happen. Link in Lomax thread.

Lomax will stay.
I wonder who is the 3rd party who just offers the Roosters a gift to help them out as poor boys they need another centre as good as Mitchell...albeit he has not left there yet.
And of course Roosters say dont want him.
Ahhh the journos love this stuff. Thankyou player managers for starting aanother broo hah hah
Good to see someone is watching out for those lowly placed Chooks.

Xerri wants out because he is jealous of Ramien's salary.
How about the kid repays the Sharks for debuting him at 18 and sticks around for at least the length of his contract!
Seriously these footy players are greedy.
How about we offer Xerri an attractive contract that will make him happy and make us happy? Cronulla's lose can be our gain. I would rather Xerri than Ramien.
