Hmm. X-men DOFP trailer got me so excited to see it, this one, not so much. No real wow factor to it.

Still hopeful it will be a good movie though.

Obviously this is dividing opinion a bit because a lot of people (myself included) wanted to see an actor play Apocalypse who could carry the feel of the 90s Cartoon. But, after seeing this trailer I'm sold on Isaacs and frankly we've seen enough meat-headed muscle bound villains. They've given Apocalypse a very interesting look here and I like what I've heard from his performance.

Singer hasn't made a bad X-Men film yet either, so I'm gonna back this to be better than people will expect. That said, I don't like the Sansa Stark chick as Jean Gray.

I would say he's neither made a great one.

Really? X-Men, X2 and Days of Future Past are all considered some of the comic book movie universe's better films...

Basically of the X-Men movies he's been responsible for the best ones.

I'm on the side of these movies needed to be rebooted years ago. Each movie is good but the continuity is shockingly bad and just frustrates me.

Well in effect First Class was a kind of reboot. But you're right that the continuity is a bit of an issue...

I agree.

Oscar Isaac is a great actor and his performance totally sold Apocalypse to me despite the shitty design.

Pretty excited for this one. First Class and Days of Future Past have been a lot of fun, with the latter doing a great job of establishing stakes that made you care about the conflict.

Really interested to see how they handle the Four Horsemen (looks like Storm, Angel, Magneto, and Psylocke) and the overall threat that this guy poses.

On a related topic, First Class also makes me wonder just how good X3 would have been if Matthew Vaughn had done it like he was meant to!

This. Like the prelude to X3 with older and walking Xavier going to see Jean and a walking Xavier finding Cyclops at the end of Origins: Wolverine.

I guess the whole ending to DOFP basically hit reset on the first 3 movies and spin offs. For someone who doesn't get into the comics and is just a movie goer then it leaves me scratching my head.

Looks alright to me.

I would have liked to see the old Betsy Braddock outfit before the Siege Perilous reboot and all the ninja shit, but whatever. Archangel looks a bit too much like ordinary Angel, and Apocalypse flapping his gums sounded a bit like Ronan from GotG.

I don't know how many of these many they are going to make, but I'd really like to see the Phoenix story done properly. Mister Sinister and Madelyne Pryor f**king up New York from the Inferno storyline would also be awesome...

Looking at the trailer again, I gotta say I'm getting more pumped for this. The Age of Apocalypse saga in the TV series was just so epic, and I've been waiting for them to bring it to the big screen ever since they've begun making X Men films 15 years ago.

The only thing I would say is that it's such a massive arc in the show that it almost deserves two films.

Its always a hit or miss with xmen.
I hope it does good. DOFP was ok at best. Need a home run now.
The thing that bothers me about xmen is that with the amount of characters and stars in their line up. It always feels like a half-assed Avengers film.
(Yes I know Xmen have had movies out long before the Avengers.)
