Agree Jack re: how good the combos and a fully fit trio of coutinho, sturridge and firmino is! Exciting.

Just watching Firmino grow into the league is exciting, and this week he was actually recalled to the Brazilian squad which shows how well he is playing considering Nike basically picks the Brazilian team based on how big payers names are.

Pedro Chirivella has just signed a new contract with the club as well. Another young gun who has proved himself to Klopp. He is a genuine CDM and did so well for us in the cup games he has started in. Both he and Stewart have been rewarded with new contracts which is great to see. No need to waste money on squad fillers in the TW when we have adequate replacements in the youth set up.

The United fans were absolutely vile today. Entire away end singing about Hillsborough. Self-righteous runts.

Being a United supporter, I don't agree with chants like that, but I'm sure your supporters have a few Munich songs in their arsenal.

It's never been an entire away end. If it were just a minority of United fans I wouldn't bring it up, but it wasn't a minority.

The away end featured some prominent ex United players as well. Would be unteresting to get some footage of that.
Pieces of shit that club.

All in all, a nice win, but not a very satisfying result. You just cant help but feel these bottom feeders will do us 3-0 in the return leg.
Coutinho will rue that miss, it was a shocker.

I thought he should have been hooked before Firmino, but I am not Klopp. The decision to take Sturridge off for Allen is something I had been critical of Klopp about when he started, and his feel for the game, but suring up our midfield when we were starting to lose the battle was a master stroke.

Having Firmino at striker but dropping deep is a good way to help a midfield 3 get the flow of the game back in our favour.
Our front line had them chasing shadows all night.

Gonna give a shout out to Mignolet as well. I though his positioning and communication was the best it has been this season.

Yeah, and it was good to see their wall of white turn up...

I too feel disappointed we didn't score another one, but we still have a massive advantage heading into the second leg.

The man Utd scum were chanting " the sun was right, you're murderers" f**king disgusting regardless of the history and competition between the 2 sides.

Hope we roll the dirty f**kers at OT.

And I know that most United fans around the world would condemn this behaviour, but f**k me, when most of your allocated area is doing it, then there is clearly something not quite right. What's even sadder is that many of them who doing it were fully grown, middle-aged men. That's bloody sad. I'm proud that the Anfield crowd didn't take the bait and react to it. It's what the vermin were looking for.

And to be honest, I can't cop that 'always the victim' chant either, there's just something so sinister about it. It's a very conveniently ambiguous chant that can be easily used as a veil to spit on the Hillsborough victims.

Of course most United fans will condemn it (myself included) but unfortunately both sides are always going to have stupid chants about munich/Hillsborough. A quick search will put up many instances of grown men chanting about munich. Not excusing it just pointing out that if one club is "vile" and "scum" then its only fair that both clubs are referred to that way.

Anyway hopefully United punish the fans for this instance and all clubs can do something to get these sort of chants out of the game forever as Man United vs Liverpool is one of the best rivalries going but these sort of incidents make it worse not better.

Not sure I agree with CB about it not being satisfying or that they'll roll us 3-0 in the return leg. Last 2 games against them we have rolled them big time. We only need one more goal and the tie is effectively over and tbh I think we will get at least 1 at OT.

we have been pretty Jekyll and Hyde with out season so far but there's a good level of confidence running through the side at the moment and with no PL game this weekend Klopp also has more time on the training ground with the side. I have full confidence we'll be ready to fire come the second leg at OT.

The chants about hillsborough go completely against the reaction the Man UTd club had when hillsborough actually happened as well. Was only last week I read King Kenny's praise for Sir Alex and the Man UTd club for their immediate response to LFc after Hillsborough. They we apparently one of the first to offer condolences and help not to mention turning up to one of the funerals to pay respect.

It's a pity the fans of either side have to take it a step too far and can't show the class of the manager and players at the time. I'm sure that goes the other way with regard to Munich and some of the cretins we have who use it as a way of getting at Man U's supporter base.

I know this shit comes from both sides, but I've never heard it from hundreds, if not, thousands of people before.

Both sets of fans have their scums that taunt each other. Its pathetic now.
We offered them players for free when the Munich disaster happened.
Sir Alex was the first on our door step at Hillsborough.
Yet we need to chant about dead people.
Its Chelsea like behaviour.
