Yellowcard are rubbish, they're just the flavour at the moment, in a year they will be well and truly gone. Expect them to rush out another album really soon to cash in on their short-lived popularity.
Strike Anywhere and Rise Against are great, they would be more melodic hardcore than punk. Strike Anywhere being a lot more raw and political of the two.
The Australian music scene, in particular the local acts, is dead. A few years ago it showed promise, but now all it produces is the generic slow, poppy bands who are looking for quick fame, rather than hard work and developing decent music which will last, and can be sustained. Bands like SWN, Second best or whatever they're called now, silent corporation I think, New School Hero, etc etc, absolute rubbish. Most of their fans aren't even old enough to get into their over 18 club gigs.
It's a shame to see the leaders of Australian rock and punk are bands like Frenzal Rhomb, Living End and Grinspoon, who were the leaders years ago. Jet is about the only new one that is on the scene that has sustained popularity for a decent amount of time.
