Just wanted to tell you about a gig I saw last night at Wenty park greyhounds that rocked big time, [and small time]
This covers band pretty big round the traps and apparently getting bigger rocked the house with some damn fine tunes and made everyone sit up and take notice. but It wasn't the ex eel legend that that had everyone tapping their feet, nor the current eel player sporting his new range of body art, or the not so popular sibling with wayout hair cut or even the former test cricketer who could hit the skins and sing like Bon scott at the same time.
they were great but none of that really made me shake ma thang until the second last song when a shy, quiet and researved little blonde reluctantly hopped on stage with the request from the band and friends nearby to belt out the Screaming Jets classic "Better" now I'm not a fan of the song or the band that originally sings it, but she made it her own last night in a way that would of made Debbie Harry and Shirley Manson green with envy!
However, I must say the song was slightly soured three quarters of the way in when she was joined on stage by a bloke who not only struggles to pass on the field but also pass up an opportunity to also be a rockstar. thanks ofcourse to the dreaded grog!
a massively entertaining night had by all. 8)
onya Jess! ;-)
