What about Comfortably Numb or Imagine then?
Okay, better examples this time. I don't really mind Bohemian Rhapsody either, it's more just Robert Plant who shits me to tears. The resat of Zepplin were all amazingly talented by Plant was such a pretentious wanker.

i have only seen them live once (bdo sydney 2003) but they were absolutely woeful. dave's rediculously out of place guitar solos and perry's wine swilling was not worth watching. circus at the back was interesting though.

Ron you're comparing crap songs with great songs. The comparison i was making was to say who is the greater artist? lets say the Chili peppers are playing a concert, Frucianti misses a fret on stage, but he is the one who actually wrote the music, or the weeny in the crowd who has downloaded the music and can play it flawlessly, nevermind he can't actually create anything original?

Millers I can take criticism of my heros, but is at a concert really the place to do it?
But yes i do believe you fall into this category, you're defence as to why Hendrix is crap is that you can play all his songs too. The big question is can you write a piece of original music that is as good?

i dont remember saying "hendrix was crap"

i remember saying he is overated and certainly nowhere near the "greatest guitarest ever" status some attribute to him

12 bar bues and blues riffs are not incredibly hard to write

i used to idolise hendrix as a young lad. but as i have grown and learnt more about the instrument myself i realise his wasnt as good as i first thought. that not taking anything away from jimi because he has his place in rock history. he was a gopod guitarist but it also sounded like he was a sloppy guitarist. who knows this might have attributed to why i love the guy on the guitar.
