Random as f**k question, but anyway......

Back in the mid/late 90's there was a McDonalds ad featuring who I assume was a Manly player, & Geoff Toovey.

Maccas were advertising the new double quarter. At the end of the ad, Toovey pops in & says "You should call it a half pounder."

The unknown player pulls a stupid face & says "Why.......?"

Can anyone else remember this ad? Who was the unknown player.

How can you not know it was Ikin?

BI: I'm a genius, Tooves. I've just invented the double quarter pounder with cheese.
GT: You should call it a half-pounder!
BI Why?

Origin legend Benny Ikin. Was as tough as nails that bloke. Had a career that went for about 20 years but he probably only played about 100 games.

Suckled at the teat like a pro and has justly been rewarded with his own show now.

Then the Broncos signed him (who knows why), and his love affair with Wayne Bennett began!

From memory it was

"I'm a genius Tooves, I've just invented the double quarter pounder"
"You mean the half pounder"
"wha..."

For some reason I thought it was Andrew Johns and Geoff Toovey. It was late 97, early 98.

Yeah, no idea why they would sign the incumbent Qld 5/8 when they were using Ben Walker in the halves before that

I rate Walker higher. Even then I rated him higher. Ben Iken was injury prone and over-freaking-rated. No idea how he made origin.
