The cowboys beat a near full strength Knights first div. team two weeks ago. The week before that the Knights team had gone down to the comp leaders Dragons, but the Knights team for that game was without all the players who are crucial to the team, half James Wynne, 5/8 Kurt Gidley, lock John Morris, hooker Ben Donaldson, prop Troy Fletcher were all missing for the Dragons game but were all present for the cowboys game.
Apart from those two games the young Knights have won 8 games since the Wynne/Gidley combination came together in the second half of the season.
Newcastle beat the team who were one spot above them on the table, Penrith, by 64 - 12 this weekend just finished to really stamp themselves as a team in form as the finals begin. The only team in better form would seem to be the Cowboys.
