Atleast Moylan is still playing FG. Training as a half is a good move too. He shouldn't struggle with the speed of 5/8th just defence and taking the right option.

Moylan has been more bankable to take take the right option than any other player in our team, from pretty much the moment he stepped into first grade. Segs will run in a f**king circle then pass it to a forward, Soward will throw it wide to our marked centre and Wallace will just be his crap self, Moylan with the ball on the last more often than not would be a massive win.

Did we extend Segs? If not maybe try blooding TMM at hooker this year off the bench, play him hooker next year and then have him take over from Soward.

No Segs hasn't had his contract extended yet.

Really don't like the idea of TMM at hooker. He's really lightly framed and would be murdered defending there.

If Moylan is gonna be 6 I'd prefer he was training there in the offseason. A little adjustment and he'll be fine there in attack, he just shits points. Defence will be a worry tho, but I spose we gain in defence at the back with DWZ, if not surety.

Blake is centre or nothing. Well I spose if every merkin gets injured again that's not true.

It's feeling like Wallace may as well have his bags packed with Soward talking about Moylan playing halves. I'd be ok for Soward to go around another year if he plays up to standard this year, I think he still has it in him. Did we extend Segs? If not maybe try blooding TMM at hooker this year off the bench, play him hooker next year and then have him take over from Soward.

All this encouraging talk, but I still think we will run out round 1 with 1. Moylan, 2. DWZ 3. Hiku 7. Wallace 11. Taylor 13. Merrin and four forwards on the bench, no Smith or TMM.

Our issue with DWZ at fb last year was trying to play Moylan style. DWZ is a running fullback as such inside balls have him supporting rather then the sweeping plays. Taylor at backrow and Whare outside him can help him in defence.

Wallace even at 9 to bring TMM on. Is better then no Martin at all. I'd go Hiku on the wing regardless he's just as good there as centre. DWZ/Blake/RJennings are better as centre then wing. So they should play centre when in FG

Dallin has played one game at centre the last few years and got carved up defensively though he did well with the ball. He could learn the position but id rather have him on the wing where he can play more like a FB, because FB is his best spot and where he wants to play. Also you are underrating his skills with the ball imo, he is very skilled with the ball and more than just a runner, he has a great passing game, ive seen him throw beautiful chest balls from left to right running at full speed. If anything he just doesn't have moylans vision, but not many do. Sweeping plays will still work well with him because he can make the pass(he might not take the right option as often as Moylan) but he also has the added dimension of being a big, strong and fast runner of the ball so defences will have to collapse towards him a bit more which opens things up outside him.

He can pass decent enough but that's not his strength and that was my issue with when he was there last year. We kept the same game plan as with Moylan which didn't work. I think of him more like Hayne style FB. We use him like that and we will be very hard to beat

Moylan really should not be going to the 9s. And if he's not they shouldn't be putting that up on the website.

Playing Hiku on the wing on Dallin at centre makes very little sense. Hiku is by far the better centre and Dallin is a FB and would likely struggle defensively in the centres(he struggles with his decision making on the wing, at centre that becomes a lot more difficult). We could turn him into a centre but id say that would lead to him going to play FB elsewhere.

Forgot about Mansour so hes in for Jennings. DWZ needs to play centre or fullback or he'll leave the club imo. Their's a reason he keeps only signing 1 year extensions

Money is obviously a big factor so if we try and turn him into a centre his manager will tell him to leave because good FBs make a lot more that good centres.

I don't know Hoppa and a few others have had crazy money their way.

I think DWZ is wasted on the wing. Like Umina I think he needs to be FB or centre

The best FBs are making close to a million or over it, no centres make that. I just don't want to waste time teaching him how to play centre only to have him leave when a club desperate for a FB throws FB money at him. Especially considering we have better centres on the books right now.

DWZ is the one I don't want to lose. Mansour can go, Blake and the Jennings bros. will have to step up.

DWZ will go if he doesn't get the fb gig sometime this year. DWZ in the centres ? you merkins are off your head, id rather Blake there over him.

Ok I'll play along with our special Panther fan. Why would you pick Blake ahead of DWZ at centre? The bloke legit bombed a try a game when he played last year, I have never seen a player drop as much ball for us as he did and that includes Joel Clinton.

The vast majority of us want him to play fullback with Moylan at 6 but we are being realistic with how stubborn and conservative NRL coaches are.

Eels will happily pay $800k a season for a centre.
