After thurston - Moylan has the best pass in the comp.I would even argue he has a nicer softer more classy pass. Closest i have seen too Lockyer and his injury could not of come at a worse time.
What i like about DWZ at fullback is 95% of the time a fullback just has too cart the ball up as hard as he can.And he is strong enough to do this and make yards.Moylan is more about footwork. I also think DWZ can have ingliss type defense at the back due to his size and speed.Moylan will never have the same physical attributes as DWZ.
Good comment. I agree and would add that we started to see him run good lines to break the line from fullback until he got injured. I love the idea of him running onto Moylan passes at speed. He would be very difficult to stop.

90% of clubs would take Norman over Soward if given the chance....

I like Panthers. They have some great players.I do not think much of soward thou. I hope i am wrong and he returns to 2014 form. But comparing him too thurston is silly. Every players body is different. Just like we have a washed up Watmough where Corey parker gets better with age.

Another good comment. Bandy used to pull a hamstring going to the mailbox, his body was finely tuned, but delicate. Fittler was like a tank. Played in a GF 2 weeks after having his appendix out. Played the world cup final with a fractured cheekbone. His body could really take a hammering and he would turn up week after week. The genetic lottery was kind to Fittler, whilst some players are made of candy floss.

Seggy looking to have a better season and lock in a new deal here:

By James Segeyaro's admission he was unprofessional at times last year and his form dipped.
He was a reflection of Panthers 2015. Inconsistent and plagued by injuries.

Ahead of what he considers his most important season, the 25-year-old who is off-contract at season's end, hit out at himself.

"My preparation leading into [the 2015] season wasn't great," Segeyaro said. "I was unprofessional. I was injured a lot and couldn't get that consistency. I was in and out of training.
"I knew I wasn't performing to my best .Everyone also knew in the club. Coming into November I was very focused. I'm in a good head space.
"I wasn't doing the things I normally do. When you don't have a pre-season it's very hard and you're always trying to catch up and then I had setbacks with injuries. I was trying to do too much.
"This whole pre-season I haven't missed a training session. Last season I had to reassess results and the performance I had. The whole club had to reassess."
The Panthers have been shown a little bit of tough love by new coach Anthony Griffin. Segeyaro said there had been a step up in intensity and volume at training.
"Mentally it was something we needed," Segeyaro said. "Something we missed last year."
"I used the break to freshen up. I went overseas and got away from footy. I came back for this pre-season.
"It's been rewarding. I'm seeing things from another point of view. Hook [Griffin] is a different type of coach. Change is hard at the start but once you buy into everything you see the bigger picture in things."
Segeyaro hopes the bigger picture will include a better mindset heading into games. While Segeyaro said he needs to improve his composure, he is aiming at locking in a long-term deal at the club.
"It is very important season for myself and the Panthers," Segeyaro said. "Now with Hook and the pre-season we've had, it's very dangerous with how the blokes are looking, especially the young blokes who have a season behind them.
"It wasn't the best season for us but you learn from that and sometimes you have to go backwards to go forwards. We've all learnt that.
"Subconsciously I've probably thought about [being off-contract] but I haven't sat down and given it too much thought. I've been focused on having a good pre-season. I really want to be consistent and play better for the Panthers. Last year was pretty disappointing.
"I'm a Penny Panther at the moment and looking to stay."

Not wanting to be negative, but I didn't see any improvement in his nine's performance.

It was a shortened version. I will reserve judgement til I see him play a few weeks in 13 a side. Katoa and Luke are signed for next year so he'd want to pull his finger out

Sure they are. Because you don't agree with them. Good for you.

Its pretty obvious you rubbished my claim before having a proper think about it and then tried hard to come up with a few so you didn't look foolish. Even reaching you only came with 2 and a half wing pairings that you think are better, which puts our guys in the top 3 or 4 which by any reasonable definition is 'close to the best'. You underrate our players way more then anyone here overrates them. On top of that you cant even mention if a guy got picked for NZ or AUS without you claiming we let them form our opinions, as if we should totally ignore rep selections because you don't rate someone.

Yeah, Seg needed a kick up the arse. This must be the reported "feud" between him and Hook. Anyway, if his attitude doesn't improve, he may as well go and play with his Sharky mates.

Bloody hell, it took you that long to come up with that nonsense?

The fact we have Katoa/Luke signed up makes me less worried if we lose Seg. Form will decide if he stays or not

Disappointed teams for Saturday's first trial against Bulldogs have not been announced.

Yeah it seems every other squad has been announced. I think it will be typically indecisive in regards to some of the key positions we have been wondering about.

This is true but I would still rather see Seggy return to his best form than lose him. He is an asset if he can do that.

I love Seggy in form he's the best hooker in the comp however if he's form stays down then we are better off losing him.

I think there are a number spots up for grabs, more than most may expect. The two trial games will be very interesting and I am looking forward to them with great interest. A number of players who were automatic selections in the last two seasons are on notice and not assured of selection for round one. There may be some surprises in store from what I have heard.

I like your new coach..H egoes for long term youth talent over solid consistant average first graders - Like cleary did.
I reckon he is a bit of a gambler, and looks at it like this - A wallace might get you into the 8 will never win you a title ;)

1 trial down. I'd have the spine as Moylan/TMM/Soward/Seg..

Martin barely missed a tackle. looked dangerous every time he touched it. DWZ looked unsure at FB. Wallace had no idea when in the 20. Was a bomb & hope. This week's trial will show us more
