Used to play with a workmate of mine up here in Townsville for about 3 years, acoustic covers, nothing overly hard (fooeys, powderfinger, greend day, oasis, fuel, tonic) but we were sick of seeing everything up here being either Cold Chisel cover bands or clowns playing to a backing track on a lap top, we thought we would could do better so we put our $$$ where our mouths were and gave it a go.

We used to play at about 7 different pubs, about 2-3 gigs a week varying from 3 hours to 4 hours........(4 hours were f$%king killer) was a good supplement for our RAAF wages. New Years 2004-2005 we opened for James Reyne up here on the Strand to about 2k people. We left our guitar stands on stage and to this day reckon the old prick is using them the tight ass ;-) good times. One funny moment was seeing 2 ugly lesbians going toe to toe in front of us, we both stopped playing as it was a pretty decent blue. I thought I would lighten the mood and I started playing the "Deliverance" banjo theme..............the bouncers and the crowd of about 80 were pissing themselves laughing as they dragged the 2 carpet munchers out of the joint.

I was in a band that supported Mark Williams once.
He was a kiwi that may have filled in as a singer for INXS at one point.

That same band supported some chick from young talent time in Alice springs one night.
It was when the doors movie came out , we saw it that day and our singer decided it was time to be like Jim.
Needless to say a pissed Aussie on stage in Alice Springs is not Jim Morrison.
The falling over drunk part was close, but that was it.
We were god awful.

Learning banjo with a view to starting up the baddest cow-punk band this side of the Black Stump! Want to learn mandolin as well!

I used to be in a band with some guys from uni/work....we played covers and original stuff, our original stuff was probably best described as basic rock. Kinda like Three Doors Down, and a bit of melodic punk mixed in amongst it. Nothing flash, but we were learning. I played guitar, sang, played some piano every now and then and wrote most of the songs. We split a few years back because they wanted to go more into the After the Fall/Gyroscope style, where I was writing more melodic, heavier and darker (dare I say more "experimental") stuff...

The singer is awesome, got a fair good stage presence too.

i rekon you're the Bass player, dunno why though

hahaha, cant hide now

Johnny's a great frontman, loads of passion.
he cut his chops in one of the best rock bands in the country Asteroid B612.
Has a very cool fan base as well, everyone from the Hoodoo Gurus to Wayne Kramer of the MC5, actually Brad Shepherd from the Gurus played on our last two LP's. and the Hellacopters covered an Asteroid song on their last album
Have a listen

nope but you are more than welcome to go and greet him with that question.
he works at Illustrated Man down near central station, i'd love to see what happens to you.

Lol, i've had some ink done by him actually. Don't know if i'd go get some custom work from there though tbh.

My band is a metal band called 'Of Consequence'...

www.myspace.com/ofconsequenceaustralia

Note: The actual recording was done a couple of years ago with both vocalists not really sing/scream before and they have massively improved (so much so you should see them live).
