North QLD Cowboys (official + a few changes)

1. Matthew Bowen
2. Ty Williams
3. Paul Bowman
4. Julian O'Neill
5. Matt Sing
6. Johnathan Thurston
7. Laurie Spina
8. John Buttigieg
9. Aaron Payne
10. Paul Rauhihi
11. Luke O'Donnell
12. Kevin Campion
13. Travis Norton

14. Glenn Morrison
15. Carl Webb
16. Peter Jones
17. Ian Roberts

Honorable mentions (need more): Tim Brasher, Steve Walters, Josh Hannay, Rod Jensen, Shane Tronc, Steve Southern

In my opinion I think you'd have Nathan Fien as our best ever halfback, Laurie Spina only played 11 games at halfback in '95 for us whereas Fien played around 90 games which included a brilliant 2004 season.

Also I would like to see Glenn Morrison as our starting lock ahead of Norton, who almost single-handedly gave the side credibility in many games prior to 2003. Actually to go with that I think Peter Jones in terms of the Cowboys should appear ahead of Kevin Campion. So my back row would be Jones, O'Donnell and Morrison.

Maybe you could sneak Shane Tronc in ahead of Ian Roberts on the bench?

Well, no Saints fans have come forward as of yet, so I guess I'll step up and offer my humble opinion. To be fair, I will have to base it on what I've personally seen of the Mighties since I started following them in 1985 at age 12. My clearer memories start from around '92 or so.

1. Mick Potter
2. Nathan Blacklock
3. Mark Gasnier
4. Mark Coyne
5. Ricky Walford
6. Anthony Mundine
7. Steve Morris (JUST edging out Noel Goldthorpe)
8. Craig Young
9. Nathan Brown
10. Luke Bailey
11. (This may surprise fellow Saints fans) Kevin Campion
12. Scott Gourley
13. Brad Mackay

14. Craig Smith
15. Shaun Timmins
16. Gorden Tallis
17. Jason Ryles

Notable omissions: Matt Cooper, Rod Wishart, Paul McGregor, Wally Fullerton-Smith, Wayne Bartrim, Trent Barrett, Lance Thompson, David Barnhill, Luke Patten, Ben Hornby, Dean Young, Craig Fitzgibbon, Michael O'Connor, and a few others that will no doubt come to mind once I hae posted this...

When he high tackled Craig Smith in the air in the 99 grand final he pretty much lost me as a fan!
