I realise Walsh and Kearney were both hookers, but I felt they were both too good to leave out of the team.

You saw Ken Kearney play?

He retired as a player when I was two-years-old. I've only ever seen footage of him, spoke to people, read reports, books etc.

In the 'all time teams' I always have Kearney as captain. With so many leaders in the side I figure a no-nonsense head-kicker like Killer would keep them in line.

Righto you knob polishers,

I can remember going to a game as a young un, about 10 or so, for the life of me can't really remember where, although Brooky seems to ring a bell.

The lations were staunch Manly supporters (can choose your friends, not your lations), so may well have been Brooky.

I can remember someone shouting out Kearneys name, so I sort of saw him play, but perhaps not really understanding it all.

Nearly all I know about Kearney is what I have seen on old footage and what I have read.

Regards

That's more than what I saw of him. lol

One of my earliest memories was seeing Johnny King score a try in front of me. I was just a kid of course but its a solid memory. Saints were playing Newtown and I was surrounded by older family members and friends who were Bluebag supporters. My Dad wanted me to support Newtown but it all backfired terribly for him that day.

Years later after Newtown got the flick, and following a suitable period of mourning, he decided that Saints were the team to watch.

Yeah,

But Willow, I'm starting to get catergorised in the ancient class now.

You must have some fantastic memories though. It wasn't long after this that I moved bush and the frequency to first grade footy games was virtually non existant.
