I'm not suggesting anyone is fibbing here...but the number of times I hear that people saw Nirvana on their 1992 tour...the Phoenician or the Refectory just aren't that big and the first BDO was so small...I must have stumbled upon everyone that attended those gigs!

Its kind of like how rock lover between the ages of 55 and 70 in America saw hendrix play at woodstock :p

Pantera at the Ent Cent in 1996. Shihad and Biohazard supported and both blew Pantera off the stage. That was during the "Great Southern Trendkill" era when Phil was in his doped up rockstar phase and the rest of the band looked almost embarassed to be seen with him.

Still, as far as first gigs go, it was great. Biohazard in particular were excellent.

Went to the Wings concert in 1975.That set list is pretty close to what I can remember.Sat about 7 rows from the front with Norman Gunston sitting in front of us.Still got the tickets somewhere as they had McCartney and the bands autographs lasered on the back.
Says 1975 on this list.Maybe it was.
I remember the Venus and Mars album was released that year so it would of been.

my first as a kid was down to my dad... peter paul and mary at the old capitol theatre in 1980 - puff the magic dragon, blowin' in the wind

this was closely followed by simon and garfunkel at the old sydney showground (where the sfs is today). not a bad gig, but my dad always used to say he was disappointed how they didn't sing i am a rock...

my first gig not with family was in year 11 at school, when a bunch of us went to see the eurythmics at the entertainment centre ;-)

I went to that Simon and Garfunkel concert. They sung Late in The Evening twice and I wanted them to play Cecilia and they didnt.

don mclean at twin towns rsl mid 80's.

crowd of about 40!

I bet my balls that was around the time I saw him on holiday at Hamilton island.

He did a gig there and had a few more than 40.

I only knew American pie and one other song..can't recall it now though.

First concert I saw was Pearl Jam in 2006.

I have unfortunate tastes in that most of the artists/bands I like are either dead or most likely never coming back here.

It was a bit after the actual birthday haha. I was born on July 31.

You're a day younger than this girl I know. She's half Filo and likes to wear outfits. Do I need say any more?

I went to a few shows with my folks when I was younger, but the first concert I went to that I paid for was Blink 182 when they performed at the Hordern in 2004. Good memories of that night, other than the details I mentioned in the 'Greatest Gigs' thread I remember the train home was PACKED! Space was at such a premium there were guys lying up in the luggage racks!
