Sinfield has no place near the squad. He is just so average. His tackling is so weak I just find it incredible that he gets away with it week after week. Yeah, he had 43 tackles v Australia but if you analyse his performance none of them are particularly shuddering, dominating or technically proficient. He jumps in the air and grabs collars, and misses a fair few too.

Other than that I'd stick Raynor in instead of Calderwood and have Gilmour on the bench, or if not Gilmour, Burrow for something different.

Huge, huge GB win in the offing! (By the way, how good was Thackray against NZ?! The Kiwi forwards will be embarrassed by his runs when they watch the video, in the second half they make him seem like he's impossible to ground).

That should be the one.

If Raynor was going to get a game, they wouldn't have called up Calderwood in my opinion, they would have called up Mathers for cover instead. Unfortunate for Gaz.

No other options in the squad really. Sinfield had a good season but bombed at stand-off in the first game.

What is Gareth Raynor like big? Fast? Elusive? Calderwood is small but quick and was leading try scorer for Leeds wasnt he?

Yes, the thing is Calderwood is a specialist right winger and Raynor is left so it was always going to be Raynor.

Raynor is a poor Jason Robinson. He isn't bad but he isn't great either.

Poor Raynor, I felt he went really well on his debut, but unfortunately he had to play outside the worst international centre in the game in Keith Senior. How Senior keeps making the GB side is beyond me and for that matter his centre partner Gleeson as well. Throughout the whole series they offered nothing and shows the dramatic lack of depth in the centres that GB has.

How didnt Calderwood, Crabtree, Thorman and Mathers get a run in this years Tri Nations is beyond me???

I'm thinking some of this squad have now played their last game for GB? Depending on development of players in the next year:

Harris (GB must work on devloping options for the future from now)
Sinfield (didn't really stand up much in either position)
Long (can't see him breaking back into the top squad again)
Carney (out of sight out of mind, and a few OK wingers about)
Wellens (a few other prospects coming through)
...maybe one of Gleeson/Senior?

Would agree with that (except Gleeson), plus Johnson, Fozzard, Gilmour (who I rate).

I've not seen the match but the most disappointing aspect is that, once again, we never really stood a hope in hell of matching it with Austrailia whne push came to shove.
