Your KIWI team for the Anzac test

.I'm looking forward to seeing Hoffman finally getting the chance to debut. Gonna be good that over the next 5-10 years we are going to have two great fullbacks to choose from rather than having to chuck pretty much anyone back there, such as a 20 year old Jerome Ropati.

I expect Beale to take the reins at the back for saints next year. Showed his potential there for Brisbane in 2011 and could well press for the kiwi #1 jersey himself.

Don't get me wrong, I think Beale is quality, but did anyone notice how slow he was on the wing during Friday nights game? He had the speed of a slightly quick backrower - during one clean break he was run down in no time...Unless that was an anomaly, he might be a little slow for fullback (and wing).

And while I rate Locke immensely, I think Hoffman's form is too good to ignore for the test. Locke may get the nod due to test experience/being incumbent but on form...

Final points - notice there are still a few Luke haters out there. Fair enough he was a bit grubby last season. But no way he won't be our starting hooker, he is on absolute fire this season. Foran to hooker sounds good to me as a future plan but not for this test. Foran/Benji have to be our halves, they will click soon and their styles should complement each other's really well.

Please win today warriors, its getting ugly on this site...

1- Hoffman
2- Nightingale
3- Glenn
4- Kenny-Dowall
5- Perrett
6- Marshall
7- Foran
8- Matulino
9- Fien
10- McKendry
11- Mannering

18th man- Taia

This is the team that I picked earlier in the thread. I'd make a couple of changes to that. Looks like FPN and possibly Sika Manu are injured for the test?

To be honest, I hate the ANZAC test. I wouldn't mind using it somewhat to blood a few players.

1- Hoffman
2- Nightingale
3- Matai
4- SKD
5- Perrett
6- Marshall
7- Foran
8- Matulino
9- Fien
10- McKendry
11- Mannering
12- Glenn
13- Smith

Res- Pritchard, Luke, Manu/Taia, Blair

Who are you blooding there apart from Hoffman?

And Pritchard switched to Samoa for that tour that didn't happen at the end of last sason.

Funnily enough a poster on this site who I have a lot of time for was repeatedly calling for Beale's inclusion due primarily to him having amazing speed. I had never seen this alleged speed before but took his word for it. I think it was pretty clear on Friday night that he is no speedster.

He's quicker than big fat Manu and that to me, is quick enough.

You mean the big fat manu who chased down ferguson.
He would be faster than beale (atm).

I agree Manu (the poster)
He looks a little chubby tbh but I assume he is carrying or recovering from some injury
A little like Slaimankhel who looked slow as hell for the 20s

On form

Nigtingale
Perrett
Manu

or tbh even

1. Hoffman
2. SKD
3. Matai
4. Glenn
5. Nightingale

Omar was a pedestrian and his lack of pace cost the U20s the game.

We should f**king forget Manu for this test.

I'd go:

1 Hoffman
2 Duffy
3 SKD
4 Matai
5 Nightingale

If we were to make the decision to use the Anzac test as an opportunity to blood players (and still give ourselves a decent chance of winning)...Hoffman, Duffie, Bromwich, Papalii, Kasiano, Taumalolo, Proctor

Is there something authoritative out there about Tamou? Pritchard?

Duffy will just get ragdolled

No way he will get selected of perrett/nigtingale and I would even have skd as wing over duffy.

I like his pace and the fact he's playing in a winning culture.
I'd happily accept Perrett as an alternative, if I were picking them. SKD we need that guy in the centres, as I like having real centres not back rowers.

but that winning culture wont help him, when gets thrown across ... ineffective hitttups

Perrett and Nightingale..have that edge of him. they have killer hittups and put their body on the line
Well I still think SKD is more winger.

Alex Glenn can easily cover centre... remember this is a test match game is real tight and his defense is far superior to skd and matai imo
He is handy with ball in hand as opposed to Mannering

True. I agree Glenn is far better at centre than most second row types. He's also in wicked form this season.
It's nice to actually have a few in form guys to choose between!
