I have siad it before as good as Harrison is, Tonnie carroll will be the lock!

I've said it before too. TC is very overated. 17 hitups & 0 offloads total in the 3 tests. TC has a very low workrate and will not hit the ball up.

hides and prepares for return barage from lockyno1

Carroll is one of the hardest tackler's around! Why don't you watch this year's series? Qld would not have come close if it was not for his defence! Look don't get me wrong Harrison is good, but he is probally 1-2 yrs off being an Origin player!

Does it really matter how hard he hits? Harrison is more likely to win a game than Carroll

The reality is Queensland have more than enough matchwinners so a defensive lock in Caroll is going to be fine. Queensland have matchwinners in Lockyer, Slater, Hunt, Bowen, Smith. You don't necessarily need another matchwinner. Maybe Hariison can come off the bench?

Depends whos in form. Carroll going into this series was going great guns, he then had a form slump then started gaining a a bit towards end of season.
Harrison was consistant all the way through, but he wasn't getting reconginsed because of where his team was on the ladder.
Im hoping that we can see Harrison in a QLD jersey in 2005

They need people to put the guys you mentioned through holes, they already have enough hard-nosed players to tackle and make hit-ups. Harrison would offer so much more than Carroll, and he can help take the pressure of Lockyer.

He does not offer more than Caroll in defense, ans State of Origin being a largely defensive game, it would not be right for him to be ahead of Caroll. As I said before, MAYBE he can come off the bench!

QLD have more than enough people to put people through holes...Bowen, Lockyer, Tonga, Hunt, Flannery.

Look it is nothing personal but QLD have more than enough players to put others through holes. therfore he will not get a starting spot but he might get a bench spot!

I really doubt we'd see that side. Fien ahead of Prince? Not happening. But most of your side is correct.

Oh, i see.... a biased Wests Tigers supporter

But, seriously. Dude, if Fein plays behind a pack consisting of price, Betham and Wiki in 2005 and shows anything remotely resembling the form of his semi-finals apperance in 2004 Fein will be a shoe in. He has played finals footy and last I looked Prince hasn't...big match experience wins Origin.

A small altercation to my team in light of Sing retiriing from rep footy, i'd replace him with Ty Williams.

Fien would be a bad choice at halfback because he has no vision or short kicking game and will be playing hooker at the warriors anyhow.

You need some qualtity players to put Tonga and Hunt through holes, and lockyer can't be everywhere. I mean playermakers, Tonga might be able to put his winger in the gap, but who will put Tonga in the position to do so?

I've gotta agree, because unless QLD unearths another top quality half before the next SOO, Harrison must be included in the squad to add some diversity. But we can only really guess at the moment, for all we know Lockyer could bulk up a bit and really pick up his defence, removing the need to have a sort of 'bodyguard'. So anyway heres what I think the squad will look like...

1. Bowen
2. Slater
3. Berrigan
4. Tonga
5. Tate
6. Lockyer (c)
7. Thurston/Prince/Seymour
8. Webcke
9. Smith
10. Price
11. Thorn (depending on form)
12. Civinoceva
13. Harrison

14. Carroll (Could play in 2nd row)
15. Webb
16. Crocker/Parker (I think Crocker does a bit more work than Parker, but Parkers goalkicking could come in handy)
17. Flannery (A handy utility to have off of the bench)

oooh its early in the season for this, but lets give it a shot:

1 Slater
2 Tate
3 Tonga
4 Hannay (Just think we need a specialist kicker and his general play is fine)
5 Hegarty
6 Lockyer
7 Prince
8 Webke
9 Smith
10 Prince
11 Petero
12 Reynoldson (would be perfect for Origin)
13 Carroll

14 Norton
15 Bowen (but use him this year Wayne)
16 Webb (form depending obviously)
17 Dunno - carlaw I guess. Maybe Costigan may come from no where.

Berrigan is unlucky, but as I said, I want a goal kicker. Carroll is there to do Lockie's tackling. QLD need some ball players in the forwards though. Price did it for the Dogs, but not for us.

NSW will have a glut of choices

hmmmm, want Ben Ross there too.

Perhaps see ya later Reynoldson (nice flip flop). Croker into start and Ross on the bench.

Are you going nuts! Berrigan is the AUSTRALIAN TEST CENTRE! He has to be there! As for Hegarty-um.....NO! There are better players around than him, especially wingers!
