Are you guys seriously picking Lichaa over Cook?

I'd pick Cook over Lichaa in a heartbeat but

1. Des never dropped Lichaa
2. Cook might piss off to another club
3. Lichaa won't play NSW Cup since he was promised to play first grade and his salary reflects that.

If I was picking the team I'd put Cook at 9 and Lichaa to NSW Cup but I don't think Des will do that.

I think teams have figured out our big-forward strategy and we should look for mobility on the bench, working Cook & Lichaa on rotation. Even allows for Mbye or Reynolds to be shifted out if need be.

Well....

1. We didn't know about Cook until Lichaa got injured.
2. We NEED to retain him no matter what.
3. I won't mind breaking that promise and put him in NSW cup and forced him out that way.

Lol Rona was great this year. I guess it's fair enough about the other positions 08 but yeah Rona will be there.

* = future halves options but need to work on their defense

I know we had a bad end to the season, but 2016 is a different year, hopefully a better year.
Des is building the squad, we need to tweak the way we play and work on a long term spine.

also i think that cook has a good case to be starting hooker or at the very least interchange

in his 5~ games this year he did more than lichaa did the entire season

a lot of people here seem to have forgotten about tony williams

I haven't I have left him out of the side.

Again it depends on form, but he will need to show good form in the trials to make the team.

With the reduced interchange and out current in ability to maintain reasonable line speed for 80 minutes, the Dogs are going to struggle with team balance if we have too few guys making tackles. That is already a problem this year.

On past from T-Rex is not know for his defensive work rate and desire to make try saving tackles, that could change.

We need to get the defense right in 2016, I know our attack was not great at times this year, but a bigger problem was we conceded too may points or more specifically did not have the grit to hang on when the flow of the game was going against us.

In the modern area, all teams find that difficult.

But the Broncos, Roosters and Storm do it much better than we do.

We may find little change to the team initially, as players from last year deserve a shot, new guys may take a while to settle in, and depending on trial form etc.

If you get a chance to watch some Warriors NYC games, check out Brad Abbey.
He is a specialist fullback who is fast, has footwork, ball playing ability, and kicking game and can kick goals.

Abbey has to translate his NYC form into the NRL, but his NYC form is good.

We also have Jaline Graham in the NYC team who IMO is similar to Ben Barba. Perhaps not as fast a Ben, but has plenty to offer.

As I see it these 2 guys and BMoz are all in the mix for fullback, depending on form, injuries etc.

The other consideration is BMoz has played most of his career on the wing and is an excellent winger.

I don't really know what Des has in mind, but I imagine the intention is for Abbey to play fullback, but he may start on the wing.

From what I saw in the semis, we may need Abbey in the side for goal kicking and kicking in general play.

I think Lane needs more time in NSW Cup. His defence and tackling are horrible.

Adam Elliot may be a better starting option, perhaps Lane/T-Rex can continue to come off the bench.

There is a lot of upside to Lane, hopefully an off-season can improve his defense.
