It would be interesting to have a look at each State's depth in each position.

Here's my thoughts on QLD ... Bit skinny in the wings and utilities. NSW have blokes like gidley and Lewis who can play anywhere really.

As you can see we have ridiculous depth in the halves!

2. Boyd
3. Inglis
4. Hodges
5. O'Neil
6. Thurston
7. Cronk
8. Scott
9. Smith
10. Civoniceiva
11. Myles
12. Thaiday
13. Harrison

14. Gillett
15. Hannant
16. Parker
17. Shillington

Qld B would be...

1. Ben Barba
2. Dane Nielsen
3. Brent Tate
4. Willie Tonga
5. Lote Tuqiri
6. Daly Cherry-Evans
7. Chris Sandow
8. Josh McGuire
9. Matt Ballin
10. Jacob Lillyman
11. Gavin Cooper
12. Dave Taylor
13. Dallas Johnson

14. Jake Friend
15. Martin Kennedy
16. Sam Kasiano
17. Ben Te'o

Reserves: Tasi, Ray Thompson, Prince, McQueen, Esi Tonga, Copley, Gagai, McCullough, Hunt, Kingston, Segeyaro, Fa'aoso, Costigan, Romelo, Stagg, Berrigan, Bolton, Bowen, Srama, Zillman, Bukuya, Ross, Guerra, Moga (if he ever plays), Graham.

Fin.

Depth has never been a strong suit for Queensland. Even during our peak we always had a shallow pool of talent. But this lot isn't too bad at all.

I always thought NSW had the much better depth, but QLD just relied on having a great top 17. I was obviously wrong.

There's not much between the two, really. NSW have the better B Grade team from 1-5 (Stewart, Gordon, J Morris, Lewis, Morris) QLD have much better halves (DCE, Sandow, Prince >>> Maloney, Soward and Mullen) Both teams have good depth in the forwards.

Prince >>> Soward? Perhaps in 2008, but not now. Not by a long shot. And Sandow has never been better than Soward.
