Dean Collis should come on a lot more in '07. He was close to City v Country this year and rightly so, he was a consistant threat in attack and more than held his own in defence. The biggest positive in a dismal year this year.

Liam Fulton has sat this whole year out so expect him to come on again in '07. During the 2005 season all he did was defend, none of the ball playing that he was known for in the juniors. If Sheens lets him start ball playing he'll play City v Country, he was already on the brink last year.

Penrith:

Michael Jennings (Centre/Wing) I have no doubt he will be the most talented back to come out of Penrith since Brad Fittler.

Tim Grant (Prop) - IMO he will be the best forward Penrith has developed since Mark Geyer.

Agree with both those statements, these two young blokes could prove to be our saviours in the positions we need to desperately fill. Galea and Hookey are gone, leaving a centre position open. Also, Stapleton and F.Puletua also might be leaving, creating a spot for young Grant.

Big Andrew Pearn surely deserves a mention for the panthers Mick???

No he doesn't.

He has the size but from what i've seen doesn't have the work ethic or the attitude to become a first grade footballer. He will always be a premier league player with his current outlay of work and he is even struggling with that, has only had a few appearances in PL this season and has been the waterboy pretty much.

Really hoping these guys get a shot next year. I think we will see Green early on, depending on how the Finch/Smith combo works out.

I've only seen a few prems games this season, but Feleti is a special. I think he should be able to secure a bench spot for next year with Widders leaving.

Dave Taylor

Height: 185cm (1.85m)
Weight: 115kg
NRL Games: 1
Tries: 0
Goals: 0
Field Goals: 0
Points: 0

Position: Front row/Second row

MADE his sole NRL appearance for the ‘2006 baby Broncos’ as he joined fellow teenager Joel Moon as the first Broncos that were not born when the club burst onto the scene in 1988. The bulldozing 185cm, 115kg prop made 57 metres (8 hit-ups) and 12 tackles in a solid debut off the bench against South Sydney in round 14. David has played the majority of his season with feeder team Toowoomba where his powerful performances were also rewarded with selection in the Queensland country side to play City at Cloncurry on June 24. He is not expected to feature again for the Broncos this season, but has been rated a future Queensland Origin star and the man to fill the extra large shoes of soon-to-be-retired no.8 Shane Webcke. Like Moon, the Central Queensland product and former Australian schoolboys representative starred for Queensland under 19s against NSW in the curtain raiser to the Origin series opener in May.

In a way this guy is already on another level to every forward in the NRL (excpet for maybe Sonny Bill). He is totally rampant in QLD cup, he seems to have offlaods skills that the game hasn't seen since Beetson, he is really fast, extremely strong and super aggressive. He's that good that sometimes he takes on a play making role with cut out passes and short kicks. He's 17.

Massive call! All I know is that he ripped Manly PL apart a few weeks ago.

For Manly:

Brett Stewart
Michael Robertson
George Rose
Matt Ballin
Mailangi Styles
Adam Cuthbertson
Travis Burns

I think your being a bit too generous to some

For mine, the players to watch at Manly are

Adam Cuthbertson - gifted backrower who tasted firstgrade this year (but dessie played him at prop :x ), imo he will be BKs replacement next year

Sean Meaney - injuries have cruelled this youngster but whenever he has been on the field he has been a standout, look for him to take Robertsons spot on the wing

Matt Ballin - a hooker in the Cam Smith mould, hopefully we see some time next year in the place of Dunley

Mark Offerdahl - plays backrow and went from SG Ball to PL this year, could be anything but probably a year off

Aaron Groom - probably 2-3 years off but i just had to mention on Flegg superstar, will dominate the NRL one day

Hey all,

Who, in your opinion, are your players to look out for in 2007? Who is primed for a big season? Are they someone who's been a solid first grader, but is ready to explode into something bigger? Are they someone from reserve grade ready to take the step up? Or are they a young kid who you think will be able to come out of nowhere and grab a spot in first grade?

I'll start the ball rolling by who I think for South Sydney:

Manase Manuokafoa - At only 22 and having a solid, if not spectacular year and a half behind him in first grade, I feel big Nelson is ready to make his mark. Playing with a decent forward pack for once, the competition for spots and the guidance of guys like Kidwell and Asotasi should see this bloke improve greatly. Used to watch him and a young bloke by the name of S.B.W. go at it in Flegg - was always a good stoush. At 190-odd centremetres and 115kgs, he's certainly big enough.

Scott Geddes - The poor bloke was earmarked for SOO selection by Phil Gould in the 2003 pre-season and that seemed to put the mocker on him as he's been constantly injured ever since. Big, strong and with a good offload and speed for a man his size, he has all the makings of a modern day prop and if Souths have a good season could press for rep selection.

Beau Champion - Winning the Peter Sterling medal doesn't always mean a direct path to first grade but young Beau certainly has some talents. Had a disappointing year due to injuries and being moved about, but the kid has a lot of class for someone his age and is a real leader. Would like to see him get a run at Fullback at some point if the Peach is injured, because that's his true position. Is a competitor, has a good step and nice passing game.

Other ones to watch include Eddie Paea, Sam Huihahau and Dave Tyrell, however they're probably a could of years off yet. Tyrell has a lot of class though.

Other teams?

Your thoughts on Mick Goward? Personally I believe he is the best dummy-half in the club (thats not saying much when the others are Webb and Irvine I know). If he can put on a few Kg's in the off-season I think we'll see some more of him in 2007.

I thought he had a much better 2005 than he did 2006 (but so did half of the club). Doesn't help when you've got a half-wit coaching you. Beau Falloon is probably ahead of him at the moment. But I agree he does have a good passing game and knows when to run...

Has he been re-signed?

Spot on.

And just wait until everyone sees Lyon next year. People have forgotten how much of a freak he is.

Cuthbertson? Big bloke in headgear? Looked strong. Very strong. David Taylor is the futre. Roosters let go of two absolute gun young forwards in Rose & Hannant, & they are very good now. More released players we are ruing, along with the talented Luke Gordon, Jeremy Gordon, Frank Winterstein, Michael Lett, & Jason Allwood. All will excel at their new vlubs

Richard Williams has dominated every single grade he's been in since Harold Matthews. He's a freak, one of the best Souths juniors I've seen in a long time. Apparently had off-field issues, so rather than nurture good old Souths released him. Now he's carving up for the Dragons. Will definately be pressing for the 5/8 position next year, that's for sure.

This guy definatly has a future in league.

Can't understand why the hell wwe'd let him go for Woolford ! Sure he's experienced, but he's why bad tackle away from being out for the season, pluys he only planned for 1 year, & we have Gorrell who is I think 28. Doesn't make any sense to me.
