People can think what they want about him, they can like him and respect him and so forth.

And that doesn’t mean they are bad people or I don’t respect them, not at all.

But I think he’s a very good player and feel a bit down that he’s “sold” you out when you are actually building something after many years of trouble and the pre season of hell.

And then I saw his commemorative jersey performance. Terrible.

Just on a club basis, wtf does he think he’s going to get elsewhere?

He should be proud as punch to run out for the dragons.
Why are you here again?

The presser by Parra CEO and Chairman today confirmed that Zac has no "coach " clause.

Looks like they were going to sack their coach and had that clause taken out of Lomax's contract ........

Good start for Zac from a trust perspective. Parramatta were withholding details and were misleading as Zac would have assumed he'd be playing under BA next year. Parramatta were negotiating BAs replacement whilst negotiating with Zac. I would feel betrayed if I were Zac.
No one to blame but himself though. It was pretty obvious Arthur was a very very good chance of getting the sack. At the least at the end of the year it was going to happen. He wanted out, and sure Parramatta are a shambles of a club and that will now be clear to Zac. But it was clear to most people before he signed there. He's just going to have to cop it

The grass is not always greener. Saints board may be dysfunctional but so are a lot of others. Saints board are just bad at covering how bad they are. I think Saints are getting better whilst the Eels will possibly be in decline depending on the next coach they bring in.

Did anyone notice how NRL360 some were saying how well the Eels handled the sacking, they were very transparent. I did not see it any different to Saints if not much worse as Brad woke up on Monday and thought he was safe only to be told hours later he was gone. Hook at least knew he had to win games and it became pretty obvious after his multiple fails that he would get the boot. Brad Arthur was in a GF in 2022. He had Dylan Brown suspended a big chunk of 2023 and started 2024 with Mitch out for most of it so far and every play goes through Mitch. With Mitch back shortly there is no reason why Baz does not win a few on the trot and get put in longer term as head coach.

Anyway good to see another team go through what Saints have been through but frustrating to see not as much mud thrown at them like Saints. Apparently it was a freaking circus and the club was run by clowns. Still is but no different to what it appears to be at the Eels.

True. Had Zac not specifically requested the BA as Coach clause and subsequently signed anyway despite having it's inclusion refused, he may well have been able to claim that he signed under false pretenses and could seek to void the contract. As it stands, now he can't .... assuming he even wanted to do so, of course. Then again, if he doesn't care about BA as Coach, why was it requested in the first place? It's a bit of a debacle.

My suspicion is that BA told him he can box and Parra are OK with it, whereas Saints have said 'no way' - which seems to me to explain the whole thing - including the taking of a pay cut.

Brad 2022 was a gun coach, he made it to grand final. But Brad 2024 proved to be very one dimensional coach that relied heavily on Moses. But issue is not Moses being unavailable. Overall Eels are ageing and are in decline mode and the guns they have are all aging. Let's check their marquee players:

1. Gutherson once state of origin player (just behind Tedesco) is now 30ish and injured. Young players like Edwards have now surpassed him. There is even calls for Edwards to unseat Tedesco this year.

2. Siva once the most feared winger is now 31 being out jumped and out run.

3. Paulo one of the top Front rowers and a walk in to state of origin team couple of years ago is now 30. Still effective but declining. Don't think he will make to State of Origin team this year.

4. Campbell-Gillard one of the top front rowers is now 30 and age will catch up (if not this year, in the next couple of years). Won't be surprised if he does not get called to State of Origin this year (Some might say he will fall victim to the Eels form)

Actually thinking about Zac, he was astute buy, he will eventually replace either Siva or Gutherson. But overall Zac was a financial loser in this deal.

Hmm. I thought his commemorative jersey presentation was pretty classy all round - from Zac, his family, his team mates and the club.

Your latest post is a long way removed from your previous comment that his Mum is deluded and needs psychiatric help to realise that her boy is a 'flog'.

I didn’t think it was classy because he’d already decided to leave and then told everyone he loved them.

I might re think my comments about his mums realisations.

But I’m unhappy that he abandoned you, when things are on the up.

In a way it’s a compliment to his game. I’ve talked his game up for ages.

Lomax has been the consummate professional both on and off the field in relation to his exit.
Unlike yourself who is prone to making stupid and insensitive comments.

You don’t even know me to insult me buster.

He handled this extremely unprofessionally and painted the club in a very bad light.

And his insincere blubbering away to the a few mates who showed up doesn’t take his selfishness away.

The club is finally going places, paying him marquee money and made him the origin player he is today.

And all he can think about is himself.

I work with an ex SGI junior, he thinks Lomax is a creep.

The club is bigger than any single player.

Flanno picks the side and where the players will play….not Zac.

You tell me, name one thing hes done that was professional?

Played well and continues to do so
Remains engaged in trying to achieve the best result he can for the club
Has not said a negative word about the club or coach
Refused to discuss anything about his departure and he specifically stated he will not until after he leaves the club
Now tell me what he has done that is unprofessional?
Now tell me why you slagged off at his mum?

I personally think Lomax will go regardless. As its been mentioned he is looking for a new start and probably does not realise he is part of a new start at the Dragons under Flanagan. He is playing by far his best at wing. He is also a good centre, but I think a better winger. He roams around basically wherever he wants in his current role and that makes him a devastating player.

If he goes to Parra he will be an ok centre and possibly an ok fullback at some point, but not great.

At the end of the day its his choice and if he is prepared to take the paycut to move, good luck to him. He will be missed but we have a wealth of juniors coming through which will hopefully take his place.

The game is not about loyalty by players or clubs anymore, its a business and we need to look at these moves etc in that light, not in the glory days light. Its a shame, but its the way of the new world.
