being comfortable doesn't mean that they'll sign on the dotted line you can never give that guarentee, however I'm very comfortable that it's heading to the right direction.
Fair call. Most of us have been around long enough to know that until pen is put to paper nothing can be taken for granted.

We have the hottest two commodities in the NRL and going to have to make sacrifes to retain them.

So Parramattas gonna refund the $$$ back to the Sharks after developing Raftery?

Dude, get with the times. The good guys dont win anymore.
i have no idea who that is but i am guessing he hasn't earned rep honours at this point in time.

i was more getting at there should be salary cap concessions for players that a club has brought through their grades. hayne and inu are two players that many of us were eagerly waiting to see play nrl. they just developed into stars a bit faster than many expected. having to wait 10 years (or however long it is now) for a small salary cap concession doesn't seem fair to me. i'd be saying the same thing if it were andrew ettinghaussen in the 80s or steve renouf in the 90s being poached by rival clubs that happened to be cashed up.

the years that inu, hayne, mateo, smith, hindmarsh, cayless, grothe.....all spent in our junior grades should count for something. no club should be on a level playing field when it comes to retaining someone they've invested an enormous amount of resources to develop. if a junior (brought from talent scouting or a local) makes grade there should be a concession right there.

Good luck to them....

was anyone complaining a few years back when we signed Morrison, Tahu and Riddell?

yes but not as much. we signed those guys after losing players like ryan, tonga, hindy snr, etc.

to me, morrison and tahu offset the losses of tonga and ryan. i did feel for supporters of newcastle and the piegers (to a lesser extent the cowboys) when we signed those guys.

Morrison had played for numerous clubs over many years and was not a Cowboys junior so to compare him to Inu and Hayne is ridiculous. Wasn't an international either.

Tahu had 6 seasons with Newcastle before Parra signed him. They had got a lot of value out of his development.

Riddell played 4 seasons at Saints and also wasn't an international.

can't see how you can compare these 3 to Hayne and Inu who we will of got little out of if they leave. especially Morrison.

Indeed.

That was just a stupid comparison.

IS there a comparison. I mean has any club pinched a young gun of the calibre of Hayne or Inu with only a handful of FG games under his belt ?

Persobnally, I find it a bit obscene that firstly souths and nopw cronulla are talking so openly about trying to sign these two kids.

Can't blame them for wanting to have a crack at them. But to talk about it so publicly is a bit much IMO.

Yeh, particularly that enemy man - Zappia.
You'd think he'd be keeping his big mouth shut considering his circumstances.

Yeah.

You've always got players linked with other clubs, and it's generally known when a club is talking to someone, but f**k it just smacks of arrogance to have Taylor and Zappia boasting about who they are going to try and sign.

They're probably doing it to send a message to their own people as much as anything else. I hope they both miss out on Hayne and Inu and look like dills for talking up but delivering nothing.
