This is what happens when unworthy teams fluke their way into a grand final.

Eels ‘09, Roosters ‘10, Warriors ‘11, bulldogs ‘14, now cowboys ‘17. All had no business being there and got soundly spanked by a team that never had to get out of 2nd gear.

Better to have played and lost than be sitting at home with your hand on your knob

Just said the same thing.

We were the only team that could match Melbourne, and we played like ass last week and f**ked it lol
But you got defeated last week which made your side effectively a worst team than the Cows.So are you and Tommy seriously trying to say that you would be doing better than a side that was superior to you a week ago?

I am certain the score would have by now been double by the Storm if Easts were out there.

You keep watching and show me another time this game that the main ref takes up position on the blindside so he can “cover 90% of the field”. That’s not how refs are trained to position themselves.

The storm player was already swinging towards the sideline and Chechin still made deliberate moves to get outside him. It was atrocious refereeing. The kind that would have you fail your practical test refereeing under 8s

Broken field play is terribly hard for a referee to get good position though. You have defenders coming from full 360 and often the player with the ball is drawn to the referee subconsciously.

Thats why going to the blind side is effective in that instance, it limits accidental obstruction because less players are behind the referee by default.

Warriors did alright but were shit on by the refs.

That play is a prime example of why the play the ball must be enforced properly. NAS walked off the mark to the point where he was practically in the in goal and just tunnel balled it. This allowed the storm a fair bit of room to put a play on.
Moving off the mark is the single most infuriating part of the game, it is supposed to be a penalty, but now when they do decide to pull it up the refs tell them to go back and play it, as if the players accidentally played it 5m from where they were tackled. It's every second tackle now because players know they aren't going to be penalised. All harrigans fault for introducing this management style bs.

The eels scored 24 pts after conceding that many in 01. But you feel the 18 is a bigger challenge for NQ. They'd be hoping to score and avoid the biggest losing margin in a GF.

What's jarring to me about the NRL is that with cricket, the voices of summer were beloved

The voices of winter are f**king horrendous
