Does anyone besides Dragons fans actually blame Hunt for wanting out of that club?

Kinda yeah. Dude managed to convince them to pay a f**king staggering amount of money well above and beyond what he’s worth. The least he could do is see out his contract.

It’s not like the dragons are suddenly a basket case either, he knew what he was signing into.

He's been there for 5 nearly 6 years though, you can't say they haven't progressively become more of a joke in that time. They finished 9th in 2017, 7th in 2018 then 15th ,12th, 11th, 10th since then. The club is possibly the worst run club in the competition that includes the Tigers and the Knights. I've seen worse reasons to want out of a contract.

Not sure how Hunt can be exempt from the blame though. A big part of that is because they’re paying massive overs for him.

Our club is a train wreck, sure. But that’s not exactly new.

What’s new is that Hunt signed a bloated new contract after providing a poor return on our previous investment, took away our opportunity to chase someone else, was vocal about his demands to play his preferred position, and suddenly, after the coach that gave him anything he wanted is gone, he wants to throw his toys out of the cot.

He’s good. But he thinks he’s great. He’s been paid as an elite half for years, and has delivered f**k all. The great halves make players around them look good. We look anything but. You could maybe build a team around him at 9, but he’s too precious to play there.

So yeah. f**k him.

He's not exempt from the blame exactly but it's the clubs responsibility not his to put a competent team around him, just like Ponga at the Knights. Hunt's deal is hardly the largest one in the game, it's not like he has broken their cap beyond repair. His last couple of years there he's clearly been their best player by a mile. How much is Moses Mbye on?

Lurking the Dragons forum someone posted that Hunt has kicked one field goal in his career.

The bloke has always had trouble with game management and icing games but if true that's a ridiculous stat for a halfback.

Is that the same Mbye that came to the club under Hunt’s favoured coach Hook? The guy that was selected every week until Hook was sacked?
