Just thinking absolutely wouldn’t be the worst thing if Peru beat or even snag a draw with France.

Would mean France have to pull their finger out against Denmark in the last game and then we can f**k up Peru and hopefully get through on goal difference

Australia have been very impressive in both games. Played better than the Danes (bar the class act that is Eriksen). Win against Peru and there’s a good chance of progressing.

Just heard on TV that Australia’s three opponents are in the top 12 in the world rankings so to get through that group would be a fantastic achievement.

Like the manager, but he should have brought on Cahill.

Tonight was a success overall. After all of my soccer bets failing miserably I put my last $26 on a harness race in France and made some serious profit.

So France accounted for Peru, which pretty much spells lights out for our chances or progression.

France and Denmark can play out a friendly draw and ensure both progress. Worse still, there is a real chance that 1st place in our group faces off against Argentina in the knock out stages, so there is little incentive for France to do anything but rest players and cruise in the final group game.

Yet another “galant” but ultimately wasted World Cup by the socceroos. As always, our inability to score goals is our downfall, made all the worse by leaving our greatest ever player and aerial specialist on the bench in a 2nd half which was basically made for him.

He should have been there 2 years ago.

The A league is where young talent goes to die

It is pretty difficult to get under 18's over there without a European passport these days. UEFA put a stop to it at the turn of the decade IIRC. Not that simple unfortunately anymore.

I thought that was really only an issue if you were paying transfer fees etc? Or does it also apply to any player relocating for a contract?

Either way, he definitely needs to get out of Oz ASAP before we have another Antonis situation on our hands

It's not over yet, both will be playing for a win to finish first. Anything can happen in the France Denmark game, like Kasper getting a red card or something..

eh, historically speaking when 2 teams can assure qualification through a certain result, that result tends to be what happens. France will be more than happy to cruise to a draw.

our best chance is if Denmark tries to get greedy and go for the win, and in doing so pisses off French who then beat them.

Can see Man City singing Arzani and loaning him out to some Championship team next season... No chance he will be in the A-Leauge next year...
