18th club, whose next?

lol, whats ignorant is claiming you know what the Perth clubs future will look like before we even know there is one, let alone whose backing it, what money they have behind it, what support the WA govt is giving and what the set up will be. When we know all that then we can make some predictions about how big it might be. Im confident in the right circumstances it can be a strong NRl club.
So you're now conceding that no one knows anything about the Perth club, despite telling us for a decade it's going to be one of the strongest clubs in the NRL?

How can anyone take anything you say seriously?

Who's fault is it that we don't know anything about Perth bid?!
What we do know is it has no assets and will require significant investment from the WA Gov and private business sector to survive in a dyed in the wool fumbleball state.

A high performance training centre will need to be created. Depending on its size and quality, it will require about $10-100m. Private sector will only be able to fund some of it. The rest will come from WA Gov.

How much money is the WA Gov going to spend?

Will this sort of expenditure win votes or cost votes at the next election?

Fumbleball fans won't be too pleased to see their taxes going towards a sport they hate.

Where will the club be based?

Real estate ain't cheap.

How much money can the private sector inject into the NRLWA infrastructure?

The two Perth-based AwFuL clubs have to pay money to the local fumbleball clubs. If an NRL team provides nothing to the local game and lives on handouts then it will rile up local fumbleball fans.

Ive said what potential it has, no one can predict the actual outcome. You make decisions based on best evidence calculations. Who'd have thought a SEQ club would become such a basketcase after 5 good start up years?
All the signs are that Perth can be a strong NRl club.

All of that will form part of the NRL's decision to admit or not Perth for club 19. The people that need to know will know. The fact Vlandys has massively backflipped on Perth would suggest what they have heard has changed his mind.

Theres a fair bit of state land at perry Lakes Its where they have built Hq's for basketball, swimming, atheletics and Union. Theres a nice block there just waiting for a NRLWA/NRL club HQ and training centre. Govt still has a lot of land around Perth. they've just built soccer a new $35mil centre.

I have no idea what you are on about with your last point! why would what an NRL clubs injects into the local RL game give afl fans issues? Again the NRl should be stipulating support for the NRLWA as part of the granting of the license.
Actually it It shouldnt, the NRL should be better funding the NRLWA but thats not their model anymore under Vlandys.

How much is Vlandys backflip burning you? Are you going to follow through on your threat to quit RL if Perth gets a team? :)

Why so you keep on using the Titans to disparage RL In SEQ?

Anyone who is familiar with the sports landscape in Australia is aware that the Gold Coast is a graveyard for professional clubs.

It hasn't stopped you from pretending the problems on the Gold Coast extend to all of SEQ. It's very dishonest on your behalf.

Can you name one successful sports franchise from the Gold Coast?

Ironically, you like to use the Titans' problems to undermine further expansion in Brisbane, yet you're stupid enough to suggest Perth follow their model.

You want Perth to start from scratch without any assets. That's what the Titans did when they entered the NRL. The GFC knocked them for six while they were building their Centre of Excellence. They had one of the stadia in the country, but we're hampered by high rental fees.

A Perth-based club will need to build a high performance training centre. If it has to fund it without assistance from the WA Gov then they risk being another Titans. They also need a significant upgrade to PRS.

Do we know if the WA Gov is willing to build all of this and provide cheap rental fees?

There is a strong possibility that Perth will be another Titans.

Eagles and Dockers pay money to the WAFL clubs. If an NRL club is provided with freebies by the WA Gov then fumbleball fans in WA will crack up the same way League Unlimited complains about AwFuL getting subsidies in Queensland and NSW.

Has V'landys "back flipped" or is he just playing the media?

At one stage he spoke about Melbourne 2 and "Pasifika". He's keeping everyone interested.

Has V'landys "back flipped" on his statement about not wasting money on "rusted on AFL states"?

The WA Gov will need to chip in significant coin to get Perth over the line. There's no guarantee they will.

Storm were given an extra $100m over 20 years and a quality roster from day one, courtesy of the demise of the Mariners and Reds. A Perth-based club won't have any of these benefit.

Yet the "expansionists" have deluded themselves into thinking they'll be Storm 2.0?

It's mind boggling how ignorant they are to the reality that awaits Perth.
125 million when you include the extra money the arlc had to put into storm that news ltd made them do before new owners came in

It's very likely that some of the money News Ltd gave to the Storm was used to breach the cap, too. I wouldn't be surprised if it's the reason News Ltd were so eager to sell the club when the scandal broke loose.

Dont worry about it, Vlandys seems confident.

Now answer the question, are you going to follow through on your threat to quit the game if Perth gets a club?

i keep thinking he's an AFL troll anyway. Only someone who worships AFL or Union could talk down Rugby League's ability to expand so much...

The WA state government has a strong record of providing CoE's for all the major professional codes in National Competitions.

Considering Roger Cooks' ties to RL I cant see this as an issue.

How can any state Gov be trusted to live up to any agreement?

NSW Gov broke their agreement to rebuild Stadium Australia.

Vic Gov broke its agreement to host the 2026 Commonwealth Games.

QLD Gov broke its agreement to rebuild the Gabba.

WA Gov refused to co-host the 2026 Commonwealth Games with the Gold Coast.

You're clearly insane.

A few years ago you said there's a conspiracy between Ch9, News Ltd, ARLC and ARU to not put a team in Perth.

You talk down rugby league in Brisbane all the time. Pack your bags and f**k off back to Canberra you ungrateful nutcase.
