i thought the warriors would have more. they have signed some good players for next year and have the whole country to themselves. maybe they should play 3 games each at christchurch and wellington every year and have a 3 game membership for each of those cities.

Based on today's numbers it's hard to disagree although the proof really is in the final numbers as has been the case for the last couple of years. I get the feeling that Easts aren't pushing the membership aggressively as witnessed by their inability to even post numbers. I hope this ramps up in the new year. It looks like we are about a 1000 down on same time last year where we finished a respectable 7th overall with 16,328. I think we struggle to get that again as I hear people whinging about the draw etc. a cop out in my opinion.

We were only 1800 behind dogs who finished 4th overall and had just come off a grand final appearance. Cowboys and Melbourne also finished lower than us despite having good years in both 2014 and 2015.

The only clubs that deserve praise are Souths, Broncos, Eels and panthers. I think the criticism of the chooks as always is exaggerated compared to other clubs.

I personally don't need a spoon to realise how good things are. 2012 wasn't that long ago.

I think the Sharkies had about 14,000 members this year. I think we've have about 8,000 members so far for 2106.

You are correct. Updated --> bit.ly/2016NRLMembers

Takes the NRL total to 159,022. Outstanding at Christmas - 7-8 years ago the whole final aggregate never got near that.

We’ve reached over 11,000 members before Christmas – a club record!
Thank you to all our members who have already signed up to be part of the 2016 Stampede!
It’s not too late to get a membership gift voucher in time for Christmas. Just purchase online + print or email your voucher.

Well done to the cowboys :clap:

Now do Manly or the Roosters get this sort of lift during a premiership year?

Its feels like our Premierships are being wasted on these clubs tbh. :-k

Anyways that's my rant have a nice night..:lol:

I hope the Cowboys go on to achieve their overall all time membership numbers.

I also hope they finally match the Roosters and Manly growth numbers.

Since 2009 Cowboys have grown only 48% while chooks have grown 180% and Manly 173%.

We grew 22% the year after our premiership while Manly grew 49%. This is after chooks grew 36% from 12 to 13.

So to match roosters growth cows will need to finish with 16342 for 2016. That coincidentally is Roosters overall number for 2015.

Not sure why you need to bag other clubs when celebrating your own success. Enjoy it. Especially when you make wrong assumptions

For the record
saints grew 35% 10 to 11
Storm grew 2% 12 to 13

Fair enough but the numbers are still relevant to his claim that Cows are acheiving a bigger boost than chooks or manly.

So what were the attendances like back then lower? Or were more people just buying tickets per game?

If current numbers are anything to go by, the Roosters at least are struggling for 2016. Manly are doing well.

Attendances were marginally higher. The conversion of ticket holders to season ticket holders has been hugely successful over the past 7-8 years, but replacing those ticket holders with new fans - not so much. Attracting new fans needs work from the NRL.

I think you might be right. I actually think we may have peaked after having sustained growth since 2009. A lot may depend on our early season form as to whether we match last years figures. I suspect some fans think we might be in decline after 3 strong years. Disappointing if true as it shouldn't be the motivator when taking out membership.

Roosters memberships prices seem to really jack up for 2016. Probably 10-15% for the priviledge of one less home game at Allianz.

Yes they have and on top of it have removed the members cap for adults. You can purchase separately for $20. Even the kids one which is included is very cheap looking. Not real good value for money compared to previous years. I get chookpen membership regardless of what's included but I can see why others might not renew or downgrade. It really does seem the club is not that hung up on growing memberships. Disappointing. Hope I'm wrong.

"The large jump"?

It clearly states it's 500, no more no less.

And Bryden's paid for them, they've still been purchased, they're not "free".
