On a Thursday with school the next day with the game not starting till after 8...good luck to say the least!

the above explains why the crowd wouldn't be as big as normal

last nights crowd was abnormally ... poor
no other way to describe it.

It does make you wonder....

Fair to say that in most cases Thursday nights decrease attendance between 33-50%?
what is the real $ value to Tv of having a Thursday night over say an extra Sunday game?

Would a 7pm KO on a Thursday improve things significantly? You cant blame anyone for not wanting to be sitting around at a footy game on a weeknight until 10pm or later.

The ratings for a sunday arvo are less than a weeknight. If they were the same or better, think Thursday nights would haver been left out of the equation.
Thursday 7pm may have more people but still a crap night, and judging by the South's crowd tonight 6pm is a also pathetic crowd wise.
2018 can't come quick enough for me on scheduling.
If the TV stations and NRL don't get the message re scheduling now ,they never will.

It's not like Souths crowd last week was all that good anyway.

How have FTA games on Saturday and Sunday night compared to Thursday night games? It's hard to compare when we haven't even tried them.

Also how much more money do we get from that timeslot? Does it justify reducing crowds by 10K+ every week of the year?

But that wasn't the point

You said Brisbane has 2 million people to draw from

Melbourne has about 4 million

Am I wrong?

its exactly the point
they dont if you're not being an NFI dick about it

Brisbane is an RL city , the majority of its sports fans follow RL
Melbourne isn't , RL is a minority sport there

Crowd is 10k at Allianz, but there's probably a few k at ANZ wonder why there's no game on.

Why exactly is this game at Allianz?
