From abc.net.au/newsradio:
"Festival of the Boot is back!
Roy Slaven and HG Nelson return to NewsRadio in 2015 to bring you their commentary of the AFL and NRL grand finals. Tune in LIVE on ABC NewsRadio on Saturday 3 October and Sunday 4 October."

Was wondering about this myself. Great to hear that the festival of the boot is back. The GF's wouldn't be quite the same without them.

Probably won't get an opportunity to listen to it live, but hopefully the ABC do what they did last year and play them on a loop online the following day.

Listened to the AFL call...the theme was 'job and growth'.....wonder if T Abbott was listening....he has a sense of humour, doesn't he?

For those that are not aware, and especially for those who are not tech savvy, you can listen to Roy & H.G. calling the Grand Final in a number of ways. All are not rock solid guaranteed that the sync will be spot on,as was the case when the call of the AFL on yesterday was app 20 seconds before it came on the screen.

But to no avail as this happened in the AFL last year as it did yesterday, but the difference was that Channel 7 was responsible for this as every goal was followed by a commercial break so I guess they had their reasoning.

But last year, our great friends at Channel Nine did the noble thing for the Roy & H.G.fans (especially James Packer) by allowing the sync to be spot-on.

So,in saying that, there are the usual ways to listen to your DIGITAL broadcast:

With a transistor radio.(unlikely a sync,but still give it a try)

http://www.abc.net.au/newsradio/listen/frequencies.htm

on the net.(unlikely a sync, but still give it a try)

http://www.abc.net.au/radio/stations/news/live

Mobile phone (highly unlikely, but give it a whirl if you're on the move)

On FOXTEL's Foxtunes:This is the likely format in which you will get the perfect sync as it did for me last year.O.K. go into your Foxtunes radio (top left hand button on remote). Scroll to ABC NEWS Radio then press the O.K. button. You will have to have independent speakers apart from your TV's sound.

Turn Channel Nine down,ABC NEWS Radio's volume up,and hopefully, were in business.

So remember league fans,NRL Grand Final live from 6.30pm AEST on ABC NEWS Radio.

I'll post the podcast in here which will be available around Wednesday.

Be sure to record the game live as opposed to a reply from Fox.

Thanks for this.

Never forget the 91 gf when Royce Simmons scored his second try.
Roy and HG went nuts.. Brilliant.

ABC News Radio website has already posted the podcast for Roy and HG's call. You can download it here - http://www.abc.net.au/newsradio/content/s4325097.htm

Just to add:

Right click on link and "save as" what ever you want to rename the file as long as you include the .mp3 file extension at the end.

Example "Roy & HG Broncos V Cows GF.mp3" (without quotation marks)

After you have d/led the file, run it and sync it to a full 2 hour GF replay (and not highlights).

Enjoy.:)
