Ok, we've now got the Bears, Reds and Bombers. Will CQ, Western Corridor and PNG add more meat onto the bones of their bids by announcing future club names and colours?

This^. Apparently there is an AFL team called the Bombers ? Why would you have the same name as an AFL team.

in the last expansion round, the Wellington bid was called the Orcas:

Although there's been virtually nothing about reviving this plan in the media, besides a few fan-made Facebook pages.

probably more of an option for next time...

Orcas is a great name.

Bombers is rubbish. Then again Titans isnt much better, its a shame we never got to keep Dolphins, i still have some of that gear

The name Bombers sux but there are a dozen or more clubs copying names in Aust sport. How about the Australian Kangaroos and North Melbourne? NSW and Carlton? Or the Magpies, Tigers, Jets, Bulldogs.

They could have gone with the Brisbane Bad Arses. A bit of street cred, get the kids in.

?? um there is a western bulldogs

Actually Canterbury Bulldogs came before the Western Bulldogs

My team was called the Bulldogs in 1977 and the Western Bulldogs were known as the Footscray football club; they changed it to Western Bulldogs in 1997, 20 years after us.
