They tried that with super league and it flopped. The whole monday night thing stems from America but you have to realise that the comparison in popularity between the NFL in America and NRL in Australia is very wide. Just watch a game on ESPN. The stadiums are PACKED to the rafters and the Superbowl makes the Melbourne Cup look like another horse meeting.

sorry but imo international league is a joke

As opposed to International Yawnyawn? 142-0? yeah, right....

England A almost got the Aussies, NZ trounced them and the French Selection even looked good. Sorry, but you're a joke.

at least you people down there have the opportunity to watch a game live, to this day I do not understand why they can't televise a game down south live in brissy on friday or sunday. Up here we have to listen to the radio for the live call which is not as exciting as watching and after listening to the game and score updates I usually don't bother watching the replay on tv.........thank goodness for foxtell at least we get to watch some rugby league live even if it is the 3rd best game of the round :(

Totally agree with all that has gone before. Yeah, they can have their live footy, but only if it's live Australia wide and only locally if it's sold out and only if they pay a huge premium to re-negotiate the deal so the NRL get a MUCH bigger piece of the pie.

They've been living of the game for years, it's about time they paid a fee proportionate to the benefit they enjoy from having the rights.

Then we can talk expansion, junior and international development and so on.

Also like the idea of a half hour lead in to a live game, particularly on a Sunday with highlights of the Saturday games before the main event. Whatever, al long as the NRL is dictating the terms and not Ch 9.
