The PNG Kumuls playmaker, Dion Aiye will play for a rugby league club in France. After the world cup, he will join the ranks of the AS Carcassonne XIII in France.

He currently plays for the PNG Digicel Cup champions Rabaul Gurias. His signing will mean that there will be 2 ex Rabaul Gurias players in Europe next year. Menzie Yere was also a 2 time premiership winner with the Gurias before joining Shefield Eagles in England.

Another ex Rabaul Gurias player in prop forward Rodney Pora was with the Whitehaven Rugby League Club this year but had to return to PNG due to health problems facing his son back in PNG.

Thanks. I imagine there could be some culture shock, I hope he fits in well.

International Player Dion Aiye signs with Carcassonne ASC XIII

The 3/4 should join the national team for the approaching world cup. He has equally joined the ranks of Cacassonne XIII. The ASC co-president has confirmed for us the signing with the club for the next season. This information was revealed by Vincent Banet, currently training with the Dragons Catalans, accompanied by co-trainer Jean-François Albert and physical trainer of ASC, François Jovani.

At 24 years old, 1.82m high and weighing in at 87kg, the player from club Rabaul Gurias, participating in the Digitel Cup, started his carreer with the national team in 2009 against Fiji, and has since played 4 test matches with the Kumuls. [Again] He should join the national team for the approaching 2013 world cup.

Recommended by Stanley Gene, the former new-guinien star of Super League, Aiye is the fourth and (should be) the final foreign player (along with Vinnie Anderson, Troy Savage and Russell Aïtken) to ply their trade with ASC next season. Maxime Fages, on the other hand, leaves ASC to play for Baho, on Elite 2.
