Manly have shown this year that they can compete off the field. Our CEO was Australiasian businessmen of the year so obviously the direction we have is pretty stable.

Millions in debt? Where is that figure from? Obviously you made it up, ok, now it's my turn. Manly are in fact a cazillion dollars in the black.

Havnt paid former players? Every single player that has played for the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles has paid in full. Northern Eagles payments are over 50% paid. Why hasn't Norths chipped in with their 50%? Weren't they part of the joint venture? (Joint Venture, what an odd choice of words for a 50/50 partnership.) Obviously Manly runs a tight financial ship and paying players which we are under no obligation to pay is the last thing on our priority list.

The crowds this year, especially against the Roosters in round 2, go to show how enthusiastic the people on the peninsular are about Manly. When we start winning again (operative word is 'when') the crowds average will be one of the best in the league. We were last for plenty of time but are still averaging more than some so called glamour clubs.

Our sponsorship is one of the most lucrative in the game, we are one of the few teams to have a full sponsorship on our kit, from shorts to major sponsor. Corporate support is up dramatically over last year and season tickets are on a similar increase.

Financially, the privatisation will secure our future. When the Warringah Council gets itself in order (i.e. re-elects representatives after the recent farce in the municipality) land behind the leagues club will be sold for a very large sum.

Why Manly? Potentially, we have just under 1 million people in our catchment area. Cronulla is a club squeezed between St. George and the water. Souths have both the Wests Tigers and the Roosters in their vicinity, not to mention the Bulldogs or the Saints which are both close by.

Obviously you have a vendetta against Manly, at least have some substance behind your argument instead of emotional tripe.

i reckon if the gold coast is going to get a team, it has to be a new team. that way, people will at least have expectations that they could play well, not that they have an underperforming bottom 3 team before they start

It is patently obvious that you have never operated or been involved in running a business because that statement is totally ludicrous.

Of course any businessman worth his salt will cut and run where the business he has invested in turns into a dud, otherwise he will soon be broke.

What is of interest is what do they get for their shareholding, do they get 62.5% of all sponsorship money, merchandise sales, gate takings etc. If so it is a very very poor deal indeed - not to mention the fact that it is not a large sum of money to begin with.
Well Duh, Dipsh*t, obviously "IF" the club ran into the ground (which it won't) Delmege would get out, but he is not Going to outlay a large sum of Money, and then straight away disregard his new investment, he is going to work at it, in order to get it profitable (not likely) or in order to resell his share at a larger price

 If you take offense at my pointing out your stupidity, try and think BEFORE you post. As for Manly going under it's "when" not "if".

Try facts for change, Manly wankers. Your own club in a message to members said they were millions in debt. Manly owe ex-players money. it's not a charity call - it's a debt. Most organisations that are unable to pay debts are known as "insolvent".

Why has the NRL bent over backwards to protect a broke club like Manly and prevent proper expansion of the game? Clearly Manly still have some good mates at the ARL looking after their interests. Jobs for the boys.

You need more than 15 year old surfies who can't count to explain what's happening at Manly. fact is that Manly are relying on creating a paying membership base of 10-20,000 to survive. It's a farce. The NRL should expose this joke privatisation and relocate Manly to the Gold Coast.

Offence, pfffft

And what stupidity, i stated, that when someone buys into a business, they are going to support that business????
that seems pretty obvious to me!

and if Manly are struggling so much then why would people be looking to invest into the club?, obviously we are not loaded, but even without the current deal Manly can continue to be financially viable

It is a Charity call, Norths owe the players money, and we, on good will said we would pay them, why should we be rushed into that payment if at any stage it is deterimental to us?????

Secondly., u are confused Doctor Death, the ARL runs rep football, so how is us having mates at the ARL going to help us, with the NRL
oh and how has the NRL bent over backwards to save us???

seriously u guys, u have been flogging this horse for about 3 years, claiming that we will fold, and yet we are still here and in our strongest position since the JV

You gullible morons. Now you're telling us that Manly did this out of goodwill??!! Have you any idea how stupid this sounds.

Manly lied in the criteria, deserted its supporters to relocate to Gosford and are still in discussions with the Gold Coast! All the talk for many months has been privatisation for $10-20 million - but it ends up being for $3 million which doesn't even cover existing debts!

Finally, Norths debts have been paid including ex-players. Manly simply refused to pay. Scum.

Manly have no obligation at all to pay those players, but they are because they said they would, and yes out of goodwill.

Manly didn't desert any supporters, the Bears half of the NE played their games there, when we took over ownership the NRL wanted us to remain as the NE and play at Gosford for at least another year. It didn't work so they went back to Manly. We are definately not in negotiation with the Gold Coast, last year they looked at their bid so that we could have all the information when deciding on expansion of a 16th team.

Norths have not paid a cent to NE players, they don't have to either.

Get your facts straight, you're making a di**head out of yourself.

You're a complete dickhead. And spreading lies as usual. None of that is true and you know it. If we are an established team with then how much do the Central Coast or Gold Coast need starting with nothing? 50 milllion? 100 million? LIES LIES LIES!!!

Here is another idea. How about we relocate Norths there... OH... Shit! I forgot, they died years ago trying to get there.

As for you Rastus, I'd be more worried about your own backyard. The Northern beaches has no competition for us and we starting to gain support again. Manly's crowds out rank sides performing better than us on the table.

Manly is competitve even if not winning lately. South's wouldn't beat half the competition in Premier League. Which Manly is running second in....

The Central Coast had a team and deserted it. And I'm truly glad they did. If they can't get crowds to the matches they have had up there lately, they don't derserve ever.

Seems to me Manly already did the right thing for the game and merged with the Bears and even moved to the Central Coast. I don't know much about why the Bears thing didn't work out and I certainly don't like Manly as a team but I don't think they shouldn't have to move again.

It should be Souths, the ones that refused to merge, that should have to make a sacrifice, especially because they are so bad and have no prospects of improving. At least if they moved to QLD they would get some QLDers in the team that would prefer not to move to Sydney.
