All hypothetical, but I disagree. Especially when it comes to 2016 - one of Robinsons strong points is his ability to delegate and utilise his assistants. He attributes huge portions of his 2013 premiership to the attacking and defensive coaching of Jason Taylor and Craig Fitzgibbon respectively. If he had Demetriou in his corner, I can't see us coming in as low as we did based on Demetriou having some input.
Likewise, no matter what players he had at his disposal I can't see Mary winning 3 minor premierships, rebuilding for a year and then heading back to 2nd on the ladder given his inability to rely on assistants, utilise a bench or bring young talent through. I could imagine SBW playing as a middle forward, RTS languishing in reserve grade because he 'isn't ready' and Guerra sitting on the bench for 70 minutes a game.
Again, all hypothetical. However, all the crap about 'look at the players he's got' can be applied to literally any coach who's ever had success. Robinson was dealt a good hand at the Roosters but plenty of coaches have been in the position and failed to capitalise. He may only have 1 premiership next to his name but Roosters have been a powerhouse ever since he took the reigns. BUt of course, with the sour grapes that get thrown around in this place based on our sorry excuse for a coach, I cant see another decent coach getting much recognition...
