You'd have to think that if Afghanistan continued on course, they'd possibly be the next test playing nation other than Ireland. Hanging for the Australian tour there in 2022. Can't imagine Sparrow with his flag over there, can you?

Otherwise I'd be cheering on Canada or the Danes. Presume they flopped?

Is Joe Scuderi turning out for the Italians?

No but Michael Di Venuto is

Namibia are interesting. Any Seth Efricans in their squad? It would be good if they started to play more games against Zimbabwe. Not a fan of 20/20 but it could be very useful for develeping the game in Africa, perhaps a regular African cup with Zimbabwe, Namibia, Uganda and Kenya.

Not sure whether there is any south africans playing for Namibia but they use to or may still do have a team in the south african domestic comp so they are exposed to some strong competition and can hold their own. There is a lot dutch influence in the side.

Namibia 6 for 94 (20 Overs)
Ian Opperman 26 (15)
Sarel Burger 20 (27)
Max Sorensen 2 for 8 (4 Overs)
Trent Johnston 2 for 19 (4 Overs)

Ireland 1 for 96 (10.1 Overs)
Paul Stirling 59 (32)no
William Porterfield 20 (16)
Ed Joyce 12 (13) no

Ireland won by 9 wicket with 9.5 overs to spare

Ireland now play Afghanistan in the Final, but have already qualified for the World Twenty20

Wonder if the result of the final decides which pool they will be in or not
