Whats doing with the Warriors? The whole place is being cleaned out, from the outside it looks like they are falling apart. A shame for league.

They will be active in the player market however...

I thought Anderson was the problem. Now he is gone, shouldn't it be fine?

Letting Jones go to Britain is a disgrace! He at least should have gone to another NRL club and the British should be developing their own damn players. Esspecially a top club like Wigan, we depend on them and clubs like them to produce the best of Britain.

I always found Jones to lack passion anyway. Esspecially in internationals. He was no Alfie Langer that is for sure.

Also I will believe it when the Warriors give a press release. Maybe they meant New Zealand Warriors not Wigan Warriors. ;) You'd think at least the wannabe Wellington franchise would fire a few shots over the bow.

Stacey Jones, wants out when the team is going bad.. Typical.

Are we talking about the Stacey Jones that has been with the Warriors since 1995, including the highly successful period between 1997-2000?

He also stayed with the Warriors when they were reborn. After all the drama with players not being paid at Auckland, you have to give the man some brownie points for staying. He had alot of loyalty to the Warriors. Maybe he just wants a change.

He should stick with the Warriors. They are going through a rough patch and he bails overseas.
He is the face of New Zealand Rugby League and he leaves the team and fans in disaray. The little general has taken the wrong move.

2gb wouldnt know sh*t from clay. untrue, rumour designed to suck mugs in.

It was in the paper several weeks ago that he was unlikely to re-sign with the Warriors and go to a leading English club.

you guys are in f**king ga-ga land.

he has stated categorically that he will see out his contract with the warriors which has 18 mths to go.
but we shouldnt let the truth stand in the way of a good speculative story.

ring the paper and 2gb and ask them for a source cos it sure as hell aint from jones.

What I find funny is that no where on the net can you find anything that can agree with what 2GB supposedly said

Now given that this was supposedly broadcasted a few hours ago something for sure as eggs would of appeared via AAP or at the very least on Fox sports!

A few of the comments regarding Jones character and ludicrously off the mark. You will not find a more passionate, loyal bloke than Stace. He takes great pride in his team, and in representing his country

Things have been a little odd this year, but you can't fault the bloke when you take into account the reputation, as a player and as a person, that he has built up until now.

As far as I can see it is still speculation.

Rugby league: Chris Anderson tipped for Warriors job

04.06.2004
1.00pm
Former test coach Chris Anderson has been touted as a possible candidate for both the Rabbitohs and Warriors jobs.

Other Warriors suggestions include former Knights and Great Britain coach David Waite, NSW State of Origin assistant coach Laurie Daley and Roosters assistant coach John Cartwright.

But Eric Watson said Kemp -- who will be guiding the Warriors when the player signing period starts after June 30 -- had the inside running for the permanent job.

"Tony Kemp's hopefully going to deliver the goods and prove that he can be the long-term coach," he told Radio Sport.

The club's horror 2004 season, which culminated in Sunday's embarrassing 58-6 loss to the Sydney Roosters, may yet claim more scalps, amid speculation that several Warriors players may be missing from the 2005 squad.

"By the end of next year, I think you'll see about 70 to 80 per cent of the team totally different to what walked out last week," former Kiwis captain and Warriors manager Hugh McGahan told NewstalkZB.

Rumours continue that halfback Stacey Jones may move to England.

The Warriors are currently second bottom on the NRL ladder, with just three wins from 11 matches.

London-based millionaire Eric Watson's return visit to Auckland has also led to major changes at Warriors majority owner Cullen Sports, which has been pushing boxing and a possible move to create a Pacific Super 12 side.

Chief executive Mick Watson will now focus exclusively on the Warriors rugby league operation.

He's been there since day 1; survived a bankrupt club, a defunct club, everyone including the local garbo leaving the club for england and australia - and you want to make out Stacey Jones hasn't given loyal service?

Been poor this year on field, but one thing about Stacey is he's been f****g loyal and quite frankly that sort of comment is ludicrous and in poor taste.
