Melbourne's success was built on more than just cap rorting

If we win the comp this year would you agree that we should have our Premierships back ?

Look, we developed Cooper Cronk, granted Smith and Slater would have been awsome where-ever they would have gone, but possibly not with Cronk, and the NRL should have ensured that Slater and Smith remained with the Storm, as we're in Melbourne not NSW or Qld.

I think its a load of sh*t. Every team in the NRL works hard. The thing he fails to mention in continuity and combinations created over multiple seasons. What other club has been able to retained the same hb, fb and hooker over the past 5 seasons?

Agreed. No club has been able to keep their spine together... because no club has exceeded the cap by those amounts.

Why should you? You cheated. end of story. No if buts or maybes. Cheating should be punished.

Except we are still able to keep them even staying under the cap. We are able to keep our spine at the moment because we are holding back in other areas. If other clubs have different priorities thats their problem.

I'm not arguing that we should get the premierships but saying that its only possile to keep your 1,7,9 by cheating the cap is dumb.

In the last few years you were able to keep all areas of your team well stocked so to speak, because you were over the cap. No other areas suffered because there was so much money going round. Now, you lost more than a few key players, and the storm aren't as invincilbe anymore.
Still a strong team no doubt, but hey... dogs got their rewards for cheating the cap as well.;-)

LOL @ Storm chaser. The punishment was to take the preimierships and the cash and what not.... Thus it was a good punishment ;-).

After 09 Melbourne lost:
Dallas Johnson, Steve Turner, Will Chambers, Scott Anderson, Wairangi Koopu, Matt Cross and Joseph Tomane.

Compared to 10 when they lost:
Brett Finch, Ryan Hoffman, Greg Inglis, Ryan Tandy, Aidan Tolman and Brett White.

Looks like an ongoing trend, not something forced on Melbourne.

LOL all the players lost in 09 were probably equal to Inglis' contract.

Fact is, the team you played with was so good because it exceeded the cap. Thats why your premierships don't count ;). Suck it up big fella.

But we're in a different location to Canterbury, therefore the rules have to be looked at differently. The better players should have been encouraged to stay at the Storm, meaning that the '09 side would still have been kept together.

Besides, we nilled Parra 2 weeks ago, it was a lot closer in the GF, you should have kept us over the cap, we're even better under it.

LOL, yep you are better now than with White and Inglis in the squad  . Delusion is fine.

Melbourne are definately more fragile this year than in the past.

You can't compare Parra's 2011 form with their 2009 form. Completely different teams.

Rubbish, that's where you are wrong.
They look as strong as ever, despite all their constant whining about who they've lost blah blah. They're still allowed to keep young talent, & somehow retain the big 3.
Plus the NRL plays the sympathy card by allowing them to have mostly home games to kick off the season. Hopefully they come back to the rest of the field a bit from 2012 onwards, there surely have to be more losses to their lineup to compensate for all the cap rorts.

blah blah blah as usual from you. Will you ever stop?
Its not like that we don't play most of our home games away in the 2nd half of the season and as for losing players...you are kidding right.

Of course we're allowed to keep them you because they fall under the f**king salary cap you halfwit.

Or let me guess, just because we're winning much more than we're losing at the moment you think we're cheating the cap still?
