He is signed as much for off the field as on it. We have lost 2 centres and Lee so we needed someone.

Now fill the other 2 spots with talented youngsters like Xerri

Feki off-contract too? We probably should keep him around considering the amount of backline players we are losing.

    Very astute signing.

I see a big future for the Morris twins.

Canterbury centre Josh Morris is the latest big name to depart Belmore as he prepares to take up a two-year deal with Cronulla from 2019.

NRL.com understands Morris will link with the Sharks from next season, having also met with Gold Coast coach Garth Brennan recently once it became clear that the Bulldogs' salary cap squeeze could see him exit the club.

Neither Canterbury or Cronulla have officially confirmed the move as of Tuesday night, however it's understood that Morris is viewed by Shane Flanagan as an experienced backline option with Edrick Lee, Jesse Ramien (Newcastle) and Ricky Leutele (Toronto Wolfpack) all exiting The Shire at the end of the year.

After arriving from junior club St George Illawarra in 2009, Morris has clocked up 208 games and exactly 100 tries for the Bulldogs, playing a key role in their charges to the 2012 and 2014 grand finals.

With Morris and his brother Brett both coming off-contract at the end of 2018, it is unclear where the latter's future lies, though the Sharks move for Josh ends any possibility of the pair continuing their careers together.

Josh, who turns 32 in August, will join ex-teammate Aaron Woods at Cronulla next year, with the Sharks also picking up the NSW and Test front-rower last week as a result of Canterbury's salary cap dramas.

As well as striking a couple of serious blows on the recruitment front, it's understood the Sharks are also close to announcing extensions for boom winger Sione Katoa and back-rower Jayson Bukuya.

If he can get the body right he will be a good signing assuming Flanno got the right price. Good mentor for Xerri. Excellent defender and thorough professional. Xerri has the physical tools but needs to learn what it takes to be an NRL player.

Isaako is meeting with the roosters today. That’s annoying.

Can't be too unhappy with this signing when you look at the fact that, Ramien couldn't be held onto money irrespective. Ricky they planned on resigning until he got a 500K a year deal come from Canada of all places....

Reliable / proven first grader on a short deal which buys time for youth / other options to open up.

If JMoz is coming so he can play outside of Xerri i am all for it, that will bring him along quicker.

With other centre combo of Dugan/Katoa we can do the same.

I hope that is what Flanno is thinking put the kids with very experienced big name players so they can develop faster.

For someone like Gray though this is basically telling him, nothing more then a backup at best, and will have to fight it out, with our next batch of kids coming through

Why are we buying old blokes from a team almost running last?

Flanno this is a masterstroke, we get JMOZ, his twin does not sign elsewhere, JMOZ never gets injured as BMOZ will play cover any injuries and none the wise, Flanno has done it again

I don't know our cap situation but we have alot of money tied up in Dugan, Moylan and Holmes.

Maybe it's all we could afford?
